absolute KINO
>>
shame only four of us watched it.
>>
>the ONLY good series Netflix has ever produced
>gets exactly 1 (ONE) season of 10 episodes
>is cancelled because none of the fags who subscribe to Netflix bothered to watch it
>>
>let's make a kid's show
>with episodes an hour long
>and copious character deaths from episode 1
>oh and it's heavily focused on the evil characters
>for $90 million

weird it didn't catch on

never understod why so few people talked about it. I saw it only last year and thought I missed a massive hype train surrounding this series but it turns out most people never saw it
>>
>>219330939
It's not a kid's show
>>
At least it died before it had a chance to turn into shit. It's better to dream about what could have been than it is to be disappointed by how shit things became.
>>
>>219330947
I didnt even know it existed until right now and I loved TDC growing up
>>
>>219330887
you should have subscribed to netflix for a month and watched it, you're part of the problem.
>>
>>219330947
>never understod why so few people talked about it
if only there were a post ITT that listed the reasons in greentext
>>
>>219331014
I watched it on my sister's subscription, back then you could still get away with it
>>
I got annoyed by the marketing that said "we're being so old school! almost all puppets and little CGI!" and it turned out they used a ton of CGI. I wouldn't have minded if they had said "yeah it's prohibitively expensive and time-consuming to do 100% puppets, we want some cool puppet stuff but it's going to be mostly computer" but I can't stand to watch things that I feel like are trying to trick me.

is she hot?

It's in an awkward place because puppets make people assume it's a kids show and ignore it, and even older kids assume it's for little kids and beneath them because it's puppets. And then it's probably too serious/scary for little kids. A lot of people have preconceived notions about what they're allowed to enjoy, and I've had to convince basically everyone I've watched it with that it's not just gay baby shit.

Pros
>super fun characters with fun designs, great voice acting
>very entertaining mix of brutal and wholesome
>insanely profound existential themes ( sample scene https://youtu.be/8XLqWdGCaDs )
>genuinely enriches the original film with extra characterization instead of ruining it like most late remakes do

Cons
>the mix between "for kids" and "for adults" and "for everyone" vibes sometimes clashes and ends up being either too infantile or too grownup
>some slightly shitty action/CGI scenes
>doesn't really offer closure or a fulfilling end, you end up feeling like you should've gotten more
>the Internet got to sexualizing all the characters immediately and you can't discuss it for long without weird shipping shit
>>
>>219330767

Gelfling are canonically like 3-4 feet tall, imagine.

The original film is one of my favourites.

it's normie poison. Looks too much like kiddie shit with the puppets and everything. While also being too serious and dark for actual kids to be allowed to watch it (parents prefer to launch some brainrot YT playlist on a tablet or something)
>>
>>219330857
Normalfags can't be expected to have taste or bother giving outliers a try.
>eww puppets. That's, like, for kids
Meanwhile, two puppet kinos have come out in the last decade

What's the other one? Coraline came out in 2009 so that can't be it.
