i liked this
>>219332090Great cast in an okay movie
>>219332090Book is 100000x better and a way better "story" among the actual info. Was still surprised they ever even made that into a movie though.
>>219332090its a good one but i prefer 2012 for end of the world kino. i like jake gyllenhaal but i cant take him seriously in anything
>>219332432he literally just played himself in jarhead and it was a good movie
>>219332267Idk who art bell is, but I hear ppl my age say the listen to him all the time (I’m 26)
Absolute nonsense movie but it has peak Emmy Rossum so I'll always give it a watch
>>219332483Well he's dead so that won't happen. Died in 2018. He hosted Coast to Coast AM which used to be late night kino AM radio conspiracy talk many moons ago (it is awful now and has been for a long time). Whitley Strieber was a regular guest of his. They wrote the book together and it is really good. It is what the movie in OP is based on. The story parts of the book. The book isn't very long at all either and is more valid today than it was at creation as we're even closer to the coming ice age.
>>219332432i liked 2012 until they arrived in chyna then it was terribly boring
>>219332432This one is a bit different in that even though the movie is silly drama this is what is actually going to happen in the "near" future. We're long overdue for an ice age.
>>219332090the snap freeze zone chasing them like a slasher villain is hilarious, meh movie otherwise
>>219333590While comically done in the movie it is actually based on real life data. We've found mammoths and the like with food they are actively chewing still in their mouths preserved frozen with the corpse. That suggests SUPER FAST freezing beyond what we normally see on earth.
>hail big enough to kill peopleWelcome to Colorado/Wyoming
This thread is now about Art Bell.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMATUkJMAxo
The day after tomorrow is one of my guilty pleasures. Same with "the core"
>>219336146It would be prime cinema these days. Leagues above what makes it to theaters.
>>219332090It was not supposed to be the documentary...
The library scenes are some of my favourite comfy kino moments. The idea of surviving in an abandoned library in the centre of a frozen city burning books to stay alive, breaking open vending machines, wrapping yourself in jackets is so cozy. It speaks to something very fundamental about my psychological disposition.
I miss blockbuster disaster movies
>>219333704>We've found mammoths and the like with food they are actively chewing still in their mouths preserved frozen with the corpse.yeah thanks for repeating the exact thing we saw in the movie, genius
>>219338549I don't know if you know this anon but movies aren't real. What I'm talking about is an actual thing that happened.
>>219333704>We've found mammoths and the like with food they are actively chewing still in their mouths preserved frozen with the corpse. That suggests SUPER FAST freezing beyond what we normally see on earth.>mammoth dies for x reason while chewing>is frozenits that simple
>>219332432>i prefer 2012 for end of the worldReally? Because 2012 is ridiculous horseshit with absolutely abbhorent message. Everyone at the end of the movie deserved to die.
>>219339047You're missing the part where they are frozen while eating plants and shit off non frozen ground. The food was preserved in their mouths along with the corpses. This means it was a catastrophic instant cooling. Not just slowly freezing over years.
>>219336146Funny thing about Core is that people consider it to be low budget low effort scifi, while it is a much better movie than Sunshine.
>>219332090great flick to watch in the theater
>>219339214There are a number ways why the animal died suddenly while eating without resorting to instant freezing.
>>219339214> retard elephant bites food off ground > has heart attack and dies > falls on the ground while chewing > dies > gets frozen
>>219332090It's a great movie.
>>219341645>>219341775Youre stupid
>>219332090me toopossibly my last actually liked movie of emmerich
i think this was the first time that cgi actually Impressed me, theres nothing prior to 2004 that came close
>>219336768yup, when the retard decide to leave and they just get comfy all by themselves
>>2193324322012 is the absolute peak of the disaster genre, its not an intelligent movie or well acted but the disasters depicted are as good as we've ever seen
>>219342419>>2193324322012 was stupid crap overall fuck off trash
