If lightsabers duplicate some kind of resistance of mass, and inertia, big swings make sense. It's like a bat, but it's a sword with infinite edges, so you don't need edge alignment. Soresu, Ataru and Shien/Djem-So make sense in that context. If you have no desire for an overpowering blow, all hits/parries are good ones. Therefore, focusing on mobility or an impenetrable defense over swordplay are sensible. Power is the only deciding factor in a lightsaber lock, so developing an offensive style that is all about big swings and rotational ripostes also makes sense.

Listen fat slob, force users see into the future at all times, so when you unpredictably swing your lightsaber around you make it harder for your opponent.

>>219332456I think /teevee/ posters need big flashing text explaining why scenes are designed the way they are. They're spinning their sabers to fake each other out and catch each other off guard. Its a break in the clashing so they can try and predict their next move, but because of how closely they've trained together, they already know each others moveset.
>>219332456They know each other's fighting styles so well that they take a brief moment to stop uselessly whaling on each other and assess their opponent while looking for a way to slip through the other's guard, then realise it's also useless and go back to whaling on each other until one makes a fatal mistake. It's really not hard to understand since this is a couple of seconds out of a long fight where that is clearly what happens.
>>219332456It's cool though? They're showing off, not trying to hit each other if you didn't understand that.
