>Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen said on Saturday that he and his Artemis II crewmates got to watch the film with their families before launching on the lunar fly-around. He said it was “a real treat” to view the movie while getting ready for his own space adventure.>Gosling, Hansen’s fellow Canadian, sent best wishes to the four astronauts in advance of Wednesday’s liftoff. The actor and astronaut are both from the south-western Ontario city of London.>“Art imitates science and vice versa,” Hansen said during a live televised event arranged by the Canadian Space Agency. “I thought it was just such an inspirational example – somebody who goes out there and just gets what was done to save humanity. It’s a pretty extraordinary example that we can all follow.”

They're already back?
the moon is made of cheesehow are they gonna land there ffs
>don't even land on the moon>no live-stream>only 1-2 heavily edited photos of the Earththis whole shit is fake as fuck
>>219337354you are brown as fuck
>>219337508Tell me why they can't livestream this shit right now. If they took donations the cost would return in a week from all the I LOVE SCIENCE redditors. It's because retards sit at a studio in Hollywood and not in a rocket.
>>219337284Nigga you ain’t seen Wallace and Gromit? It’s easy peasy
at the same time this is happening my niece has an essay in 7th grade where she has to make the argument for and against sending real humans to space versus sending robots to space, for once I thought it was a good essay topic. We watched an alien movie together last night and discussed the options in preparation of her essay
>>219336421>adventure>fly to the moon and back>not even get off the shipDumb niggas getting crumbs and thinking they matter
>>219337284just bring a cow nigga, you gotta think like the black ladies that made space travel possible
>>219337563heres your livestream brohttps://www.youtube.com/live/6RwfNBtepa4
>>219337563the moon landing in 1969 possibly being fake doesn't mean it isn't very possible to make the trip now and that the trip may very well be real
>>219337563>>219337354>no live-streamAre you fucking retarded? Don't reply, it's a rhethorical question.
>>219337563>Tell me why they can't livestream this shit right now. There are dozens of livestreams RIGHT NOW that started before they even got into the rocket.
Why are we launching canadians into space again
just as fake as it was before, no one ever walked on the moon

>>219337745Pfft hahaha. Nothing stops them from mounting the camera inside the cockpist and streaming shit to Earth.
why does space cause whites to infight so hard lol
>>219337563 Video takes a lot of bandwidth. Orion’s primary communication system uses S-band. Close to the earth the S-band ground stations and TDRSS don’t really have the bandwidth to do full motion video, most of it is for engineering data. More bandwidth would require something like a Ka band system (which TDRSS supports) but I would need a steerable dish on Orion - more weight and complexity. The video you see from ISS in low earth orbit is Ku band. ISS has a ton of bandwidth, but it requires a 6 foot steerable satellite dish to achieve. SpaceX Dragon uses ground stations and starlink. Orion flies above Starlink.Getting farther out, Orion switches downlink to the Deep Space Network. More bandwidth so a bit more video, but not like ISS or Dragon. It’s harder because it is farther away. Even at that rate it requires a big 34 meter dish on the ground. The Apollo missions used a 70 meter dish for television. To get the really high bandwidth you are thinking of requires laser. There is a laser communications payload on Orion but it is a test. There also is not a worldwide network of laser ground stations - just a couple of sites in the southwest United States so not always visible. Clouds also impede it.In short - the technology exists but a lot of it has not been built out. Funding for such things generally falls below building the actual spacecraft.
>they had to rotate the capsule to face the sun so their piss could unfreeze

>>219337914weird how they managed it 50 years ago
>>219338014NASA's budget got gutted. Be happy they successfully launched and no one died.
>>219338014recording data and bringing it back is much less complicated and cheaper.

imagine being the first humans to go back to the moon in over 50 years and all anyone talks about it the broken space toilet.

>>219337831He's a bloody freeloading benchod.
>>219338239google says it was black and white and 10fps. so we were actually getting much better than that before. a very real possibility is that they could do more than they have but don't want the astronauts to have to deal with being on a reality TV show in addition to everything else.
>>219337831Why are we bothering to give them spacesuits?
>>219336370they won't even land on the moon, this is some high grade bullshittery

I don't understand why they're trying to go to the moon for the 7th time. What else is there to do?
