I love this movie but it is ridiculous that the Wayne Employees would see a fucking terraformer a block away from their building and chose to not move until Bruce calls them.

I didn't like it because it felt like half an apology over Man of Steel.
If Snyder simply ignored the le heckin wholesome crowd and continued making what he wanted without walking back we'd be having threads about Justice League 3 now.
>>
>>219338456
The people who willfully go stupid and feign ignorance at the Martha scene made it certified kino, for me
>hurr Batman let Superman live because his mom has the same name
No, stupid. It was the last thing Bruce's father said and it threw him off and made him realise he was no better than the thief in that alley.
Nope. Don't even bother.

Why aren't we having threads about Rebel Moon 3?

>gets buckbroken by retards who didn't understand simple movies and got enraged when they weren't riddled with quips
>tries to pander to them against his own nature with BvS
>the only decent thing he made since was Justice League, and only after unfucking Joss's faggotry
The moral of the story is never listen to reddit ever.

They were terrified and didn't know where to go. Look at 9-11. Some of those people thought it was safer in the building.
>>
What's more ridiculous is packing 3 movies worth of plotlines into 1 movie
>>
>>219339091
theyre idiots lmao. youre always safer on the ground rather than high up on a multi-story steel and concrete shitshow just waiting to collapse on you. theres a similar scene in Man of Steel where the Daily Planet staff is watching the ship literally fucking level Metropolis and the building one block next to them gets completely annihilated and this is when Perry decides to start shouting
>ok everyone we're leaving the building
>>
>>219338907
Because Snyder betrayed me and made it so the water girl wasn't the princess, despite hinting at that heavily in the first movie. I blame the new writers working with him in that franchise.

I fucking love this movie and used to create huge threads here years ago dissecting every frame of the movie with pictures from it.

What you’re looking at is a form of spectator syndrome. A lot of people sort of loosely dissociate in disaster scenarios. You remember that massive tsunami that hit Indonesia back in 2004? Tons and tons of the casualties were tourists, people with enough education and pop-culture osmotic knowledge about disasters to know what the warning signs meant. But what did they do? They walked out, in some cases half a mile or more, into the seabed exposed when the ocean receded. People do stupid shit during disasters.

Me too, man. It’s my absolute favorite comic book movie.

Whedon cut was superior to Sneeder's. Completely vindicated.

Let’s talk, fren. I’m gonna repost something from a few days back. It’s all the stuff I inferred about Snyder’s worldbuilding and a loose backhistory. Tell me how closely it aligns with what you think:

Generalizations:
Magic is born of equal parts imagination, belief, and worship.
If the people stop believing in the magic (in their myths), it calcifies into a sort of ore that is a powerful energy source, but also poisonous to the now-unbelieving culture, and since “only magic draws blood from magic” (from Shazam), it can still wound mythic beings (the “Eternium” ore from Black Adam)
This isn’t just true of Earth, it’s true of all worlds with intelligent life. Including Krypton.

Inferred history from context clues scattered throughout the films:
In the distant past, Oans (also known as the Guardians of the Universe) visited Krypton and derived their Green Lantern rings from the study of Kryptonians’ telekinetic aura. Millennia later, the Kryptonians entered their Golden Age of exploration. This brought them to Earth for the first time and resulted in humanity’s First Contact with the Kryptonians in the form of Kara El, Superman’s “cousin,” 20,000 years removed. This event gives rise to the first Heroic Age and the Atlanteans - Kara’s hybrid descendants.

Heroes, Gods, and Monsters
These entities are born of mankind’s hopes and fears, and under the appropriate circumstances, anyone can become one. What it takes is capturing mankind’s imagination in one way or another, becoming symbolic of something that resonates with Jungian figures from the collective unconscious. The strength of such figures can vary with the power of their myths and humanity’s belief in them. Earth’s “Old Gods” existed in symbiosis with humanity, whereas the invading “New Gods” are a parasitic divinity that amasses power by subjugating more and more worlds and harvesting their magical “ore” for their value as a fuel source.

I don't like to comment about things that weren't either in the movies, or exposed in interviews, and unfortunately we never got to see what Snyder and other directors were planning for the Green Lanterns or that Green Lantern Corps movie project.

What i can tell you is that Snyder is a huge fan of comic writers like Alan Moore, John Byrne, and Grant Morrison, despite some of these writers not jiving so much with his own takes on these characters.
Because of this what Snyder was trying to adapt was this interpretation from Byrne and Morrison about imagination being power and there being this godwave that could turn people into godlike beings in a way, including the fact that were several waves of this phenomenon. For example Darkseid and his people were New Gods, from the Fourth World, this after the gods of old sort of inspired by the Norse gods died in a apocalyptic all-out war.
And Morrison played a lot with the idea that the DC heroes like Superman, Batman, and so on were going to eventually supplant them creating a "Fifth World". Morrison also liked to play the idea that time and nature is cyclical and because of that you had several versions of King Arthur, and several important groups of heroes made up of twelve. That even Christ and his Apostles were something like this. So Superman and the Justice League were like a new pantheon of heroes and even gods.
As you can see a lot of this play on the idea of the Monomyth, from Joseph Campbell, which Snyder is also a fan of.

So Snyder was definitely playing with this idea. That the Justice League were just the new incarnation of heroes and godlike beings of old, that the existence of Superman was sort of making the heroes of old return alongside new heroes bringing back a time of myth and wonder, that this war against Darkseid was repeating yet again where humanity and all its heroes are united once again, and so on. That this whole thing is rather predestined and divine.

Continuing, you can see a lot of this in the first Wonder Woman movie that saw a lot of involvement from Snyder. Ares was thought of to be the ultimate bad guy, but as he says in the movie he barely did anything and even his existence and power depend on humanity's nature and beliefs. This would have been even more apparent in the original third act that was reshot by the studio, where he doesn't fight Wonder Woman and just disappear.

Then you've the Justice League more where we see the three gods, Zeus, Ares, and Artemis, helping humanity battle Darkseid. If you pay attention their actions and movements mirror visually that of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman in BvS when they fought off Doomsday.

I didn't watch Shazam, so i can comment much about it but from the little i know they also played with a bit with that interpretation. So you're not wrong about your views regarding these movies.

>If you pay attention their actions and movements mirror visually that of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman in BvS when they fought off Doomsday

Wow, can’t believe I didn’t notice that. Great catch.

Personally, I’ve always believed that Snyder’s Superman also has a sort of metacommentary component to him, how his “arrival” in comics heralded the age of comic heroes. In-universe, I think he, and Kryptonians in general, inspire humanity’s imagination, but having humanity fixate on him doesn’t really do much for him under ordinary circumstances, and all that “godmaking” magic allows for other metas to come into being.

And when I say “under ordinary circumstances, I mean that we still see it manifest in some extraordinary ones. When Perry White refuses to abandon that lady in the rubble, I think it’s intended to have two meanings - one that Perry’s heroic in his own right, but on the other, that Perry has faith that something’s going to save them, and it’s at that precise moment that we cut to Clark standing up to the full force of the World Engine, something he shouldn’t technically have been capable of doing considering how it was weakening him.

You're not wrong at all regarding Perry White. Most of the time when Snyder wants to tell something without spelling it out, he does so visually. So when you see in BvS that statue of Superman that Metropolis made to honor his heroism, the pose with his stretching his arm down for someone or something, that is the mirror image of White's action in that exact scene of MoS.

And here is what i said about Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman being depicted as the new incarnation of the older gods. I find it funny that Batman is not channeling Ares, but Artemis (the goddess of the hunt)

The themes of the three movies are very patriarichal. There's a lot of emphasis put on the father and what it means to be a good father or bad. It's no wonder the people who love these movies tend to have grown up in fatherless homes. While the people who hate them, blindly, are trannies with a grudge against men.

And here's Zack Snyder pretty much stating the obvious, that the heroes of ancient times shown in the prologue of Justice League were sort of like the heroes of their time, and that the superheroes of today were pretty much following their steps even if they aren't aware of it. That everything is cyclical in a way.

Here's another thing, showing that it wasn't just about being a hero in the physical sense. BvS specially draws parallel between Superman and King Arthur, but in between them also the two and the president John F. Kennedy, showing that JFK was a time in America history where you sort of had this heroic Arthurian figure.

The writing on that movie doesn't make any sense. To be fair, nothing does.
The purpose of that blockbuster was to look as cool and epic as possible, so don't overthink it.

it all makes sense, you saying that just shows how retarded you are. Crazy you got filtered by such a simple movie.
