>"ironic" rap
Why did millennials love this so much?
>>
>>219359176
All we have is ironic detachment.
>>
>>219359176
Because blacks take it so seriously and think they it makes them look so hard. The contrast of using it to be goofy is funny.

In the late 00s black rap was becoming ironic too. Tyler the creator for example.

It just seems like millennials - whether black or white - just started loving "ironic" rap around this time. By the 2010s irony took over as the genre died. The mainstream was taken over by soundcloud nigs having a laugh and whites went crazy for nerdcore rappers.

To be fair, ironic rap was kind of a return to the roots of of the genre, people singing about what they knew, even if it was centered on pop culture and nerdy things. But even that got co-opted by mainstream industry plants now that it's cool to drop bars about Transformers inbetween the same vapid rhetoric about bitches and money.

crazy to think raps been going on for so fucking long. way, way too long. i was listening to jon lajoie in highschool, which ended 15 years ago, and that was years after my wigger phase, when rap was already big.

just the worst trend of all time continuing on for forever, i guess they make the jews a lot of money with their shit excuse for music?

So is my life but nobody is laughing about it.
>>
>>219359176
Because it was a way for people that can't sing to make music. Rap requires no actual talent to make. It's an entry level genre.
>>
>>219359981
Wasn't the middle eastern guy from how did this movie get made? Also in it?

>>"ironic" rap
you're talking like it was a whole movement/genre when all it was was a handful of skits.
>>
>>219365381
It was a movement, but it would include all the rap that isnt ironic but people liked ironically, like all the white middle class suburbia kids listening to triple six mafia and lil b and viper.
