>New Resident Evil film by Zach Kreger was well received at test screenings - the official premiere is September 18, 2026.
>We are waiting for a short (about 90 minutes), tough and dynamic horror without unnecessary explanations of the lore. The film keeps constant tension, some compare it to "Mad Max: Fury Road", only in the horror style. The emphasis is not on the characters, but on the atmosphere, monsters and practical effects. The locations resemble the early parts of the games.

Fury road was shit Overall and not even a mad max movie. So it fits for a RES movie

>without unnecessary explanations of the lore
exposition is for faggots so this sounds kino to me

There's not much lore in Resident Evil. Evil company makes zombies. That's it

Is this supposed to be outbreak or something new?
>>

Tell that to the faggots who tried to make a resident evil tv show a few years ago.

The only way to make good RE media is to use the loosely use the main plot in the background. That's how the Mila RE movies worked. I think Capcom went full retard with the rights and now filmmakers have to use the non-sensical plot of the games

this

Why though? outbreak would be a good game to make into a new RE film.

Just to be on the safe side, they should push the release back to like December 27, 2026 or February 27, 2026. Give the filmnsome more time to cook.

Fake ai slop poster. Where's the fucking community note?

It's something completely standalone and new, the outbreak is a parasite that's a mix of Plagas and The Thing, the movie follows the junkie from Weapons delivering a cooler to Raccoon City hospital, most of the movie takes place in one night and outdoors, so no mansion or underground lab

Aside from Raccoon City and Umbrella there aren't that many RE things, there's jokes about how almost every time the "next part" comes up there's a lock but the protagonist just breaks them, only one lock has an emblem that requires a specific key, that's about it, and the first monster constantly chases the protagonist so maybe that acts like a stalker enemy

That's probably where the Fury Road comparison is

>That's how the Mila RE movies worked
some of the dumbest movies on the damn planet, I dont know how anyone enjoyed them.
>>

So dumb they informed the games from 4 to 9. Its the games that took from the movies, not the movies from the games.
The only ones that escaped Millia's absolute power level are RE7 and 8.

First one is a great b horror movie that could work as a standalone in the game continuity

Second is fun action movie schlock with elements of RE3

Rest are shit. Personally I think they should’ve kept to the “B” plot idea of something that could’ve been going on during the game events. For instance have the second movie not have any of the game characters and just keep it as Alice a completely normal human trying to make it out of the city while seeing Easter eggs of thing from RE2 and RE3 like the police station and nemesis.
