It is pretty easy. Hollywood is follow the leader.The Matrix, Raimi Spider-Mans and the M Night Horror Movie success pushed Hollywood's view of what the 16-29 Demographic wanted in their movies. The 90s were a conclusion of the 80s tropes that started with movies like First Blood Part II and TV shows like the A-Team and Miami Vice. Cheesy, earnest, big guys do big things for good reasons. Late 90s audiences had grown tired of that and wanted deep themes and edgy camera-cuts that you could talk about and sound adult talking about "Muh this is Plato" and "Bruce was Ded all along how smart on rewatch" Now we've basically got the 90s-ification of those early 00s themes, Multiverse bullshit and Psychological thriller twists abound on oversized budgets covered in CGI.
