How did they fuck this movie up so bad? Everything just feels totally "off" through the entire thing.
>>
>>219377947
Is that heckin Thor with a greasy beard and a teddy bear??? Wow this is epic.
>>
By turning Mad Max into Mad Maxine.

Just stay away from feminist movies.
Even when they try to make them look cool by using Mad Max.
>>
>>219377947
Most of the movie was green screened whereas Fury Road was entirely real locations.

More like Mad MaxiPad
>>

fury road was more of a feminist movie than this one

how did George Miller make great Mad Max films consistently prior to this one?
>>
>>219377947
>muh feelings

>>

It felt like a tv miniseries, with a tv miniseries budget, being shown in theaters.
>>
fury road was a pile of cartoon shite too
>>
Everyone bitching about women or feminism or whatever the fuck. Anya Taylor Joy was probably the best part of this movie and one of the few things keeping it from becoming complete trash.

The real answer is the production quality makes it look like a cheap knock off. Too much of a cartoony look. I don't know if it's because George Miller is entering his Lucas phase, or the budget wasn't there, or what, but all the problems in this movie are visual and production related. The story and characters and acting are all fine.

>Green place good
>Immortan Joe bad
>Leave civilization with water
>Go to Promise land

when did you realize that Mad Max Fury Road actually DUNKS on women? everyone says this film is just Mary Sue shit. but that ending made me laugh.
>>
>>219377947
Every time I try to watch it I just want to watch Fury Road instead.
>>
>>219379749
it was so heavily viral marketed on here for six months solid that it corrupted an entire wave of newfags within that time and left them permanently brain damaged as evidenced by the forced meme from that viral marketing company still being repeated to this day.
if you see anyone do it, call them a 2015 newfag cunt
>>
>>219378126
all the canyon was CGI
>>
>>219377947
Too much digital post-processing. This crisp, bright, color-corrected style is totally wrong for the vibe of a Mad Max movie. Fury Road suffered from this too, to a certain degree.
>>
>>219380001
What meme?
>>
It's perfect, I prefer this over fury road. Second best Mad Max movie.
>>
>>219378126
No Fury road was heavy cgi. Furiasa just has a comic book look.

Would it kill chuds not to talk about things they know nothing about? You fuckers don't even care enough to watch the movie, so why don't you keep quiet?
>>
>>219377947
Its mission was to answer a bunch of questions that nobody asked. We get everything we needed to know about Joe's operation and the world from the little references and visual storytelling in Fury Road, and I guess the game if you wanted to get a little more out of it.

I really didn't need to know that Riktus was a pedophile. He was kind of cool in Fury Road, and that made it weird.
>>
>>219379749
Nah, I'm sticking with liking Fury Road. There's charm to its simplicity. I like that it just goes and doesn't really stop for very long at a time.
>>
>>219379891
Max and Nux had beaten Furiosa and the brides outright. The only thing that fucked it up was that he accidentally grazed Joe's favorite wife with a bullet, otherwise Joe probably would have suped his car up for him, stocked him with fuel, bullets, and food, and sent him on his merry way with thanks.
>>
>>219377947
I bet a 90 minute fan edit would be pretty cool
>>
>>219377947
I wonder if this was originally meant to be the streaming series they proposed ? It feels a bit too drawn out for a regular movie

Immortan's whole crew is pretty great. Unironically was rooting for the antagonists by the end just because the wives and tranny grannies were so fucking annoying. The video game was a better Mad Max story than Fury Road.
I did like Furiosa for Dementus and a lot of the supporting cast though. It's just marred by being visually ugly for a good bit, compared to Fury Road which looks impeccable.
Without those visuals and that score, Fury Road falls apart. George really needs to find some better screenwriters. Hell, bring in the dude who wrote Happy Feet.
>the nigga who is credited as the primary co-writer (with George) for Fury Road and Furiosa played The Mechanic in the original movie
What the fuck? Did he blackmail Miller or something?
>>
I liked it, just don't understand why Furiosa is the main character when she barely talks and her story has no relevance to the conflict.
>>
>>219377947
As the kids say: "get woke, go broke"
>>
>>219389065
It's about her fall and Fury Road is about her redemption.
>>
>>219382229
Damn that's a long philtrum
>>
>>219389167
Honestly, neither movie is about her.
>>
>>219379800
checked and agree. both girls were fine as furiosa, although obviously not as good as OG.
> all action felt fake and not exciting
> disjointed story, with timeskips, montages and just random episodes of her life, wtf
> looked weird and low-budget, but not in Road Warrior way
> lore faggotry for universe that does not require any
> lame villain
> Road Warrior and Fury Road won by being hyper-focused on the story, this was exact opposite, unfocused mess
I can go on.
>>
>>219389167
I don't think Furiosa as a character has a fall, let alone a redemption arc.
At most she loses her will to fight, before Max (as a result of being previously influenced by her) brings her back.
But there's no fall lol. Kinda why I don't get what this dude is talking about>>219387786
Furiosa IS a deer in the headlights, masquerading as a wolf.
>>
>>219389228
It's about her as the central character (who is to be redeemed), but also about the very magnificently designed wasteland world, sure, whereas the old movies were about Max, but even more so about his benevolent vagabondism in changing post-apocalyptic settings.
>>
>>219387786
>who killed the world?
>maybe she will be a girl
>>
I blame the lacklustre visuals on the fact that George Millers longtime cinematographer retired before Furiosa, and he was stuck using the guy that made The Great Gatsby, Warcraft and the sequel to 300.

The movie itself I thought was surprisingly great, felt almost like a fantasy epic.

I remember when chuds all over the internet were calling Furiosa a "girlboss movie" thinking Warner would listen to them and make a Mad Max 5. Then Furiosa flopped and Warner cancelled Mad Max 5.

Brilliant, chuds.
>>
>>219389730
>The Great Gatsby, Warcraft and the sequel to 300
That makes a lot of sense.
>>
>>219379800
As someone who actually liked the movie, Furiosa herself was the least interesting part of the movie.
>>
>>219377947
I enjoyed it. The color correction in some spots was odd, but Dementus was fantastic and I liked Anya's big eyes.

>>219377947
1. Mad Max movie without Mad Max.
2. Nobody asked for a prequel.
3. Had no chance of matching Fury Road.
Fury Road is one of the greatest action movies of all time. It was foolish to go to the well a second time and with a prequel no less.
Like The Matrix sequels.
>>
>>219377947
It was a prequel that nobody asked for. Mad Max movies are about one thing:

Mad. Max.

The other problem with it is that it’s got one too many antagonists vying for the spotlight while, much like Fury Road, the protagonist is largely a bystander without much agency for huge chunks of the movie. Fury Road suffers less for it, mainly because at least Fury Road’s protagonist is:

Mad. Max.
>>
>>219397715
>Nobody asked for a prequel

>>
Power corap.
>>
>>219400616
Nah nobody cares about max, the Post Apocalypse setting is what does it. Meme Gibson is mogged in every film by the villain.
