You literally can’t. The Brits couldn’t produce this kino.

I gotta play devils advocate and go with The Day of the Jackal and Slow Horses S1. Bongs aren't funny, they can't do police procedurals, they can't do horror but the spy genre they excel at.

I can't
But I can name a longer spy series
Because Bourne's only problem was the development and obviously the formula; cuz when they brought it back for a 5th movie he just fucking shit and pissed his pants and rememberd something about his dad being coerced into convincing the MC to lead the whole thing

This can't keep going with him remembering making fun of the bully from highschool and finding out he survived the passage of time, a glow up, and a makeover to become enrolled into BlackBriar and then fight him to the death or some nonsense.

Best movie, Bourne Identity
But it died with Ludlum
stil the best tho

>thriller
yeah bro I was on the edge of my seat during the ten minutes of Liberation Day parade footage. I love it when the action is brought to a screeching halt for no reason right as the movie approaches its climax.

mi mogs 007 there

Fuck off, smartass. You're not clever.
>>

i wouldn't exactly classify this as spy thriller
there's fair amount of action going on
>>
It's not exactly thriller but I guess it's kind of the point and the whole Le Carre calling card, there isn't much thrilling about the spy genre. It's a lot of walking around and talking to people.
It's too bad that the substance of this movie is completely overshadowed by the fact that it's PSH's last.
I have nothing to do with intelligence or espionage but I've never felt as much empathy with a protagonist than I have with him here. There's just something about the sheer despair at seeing the opportunity to do your job right and practce your craft right yanked away from you because your superiors need fast and presentable results.

The one with Jeremy Renner instead of Matt Damon is the best one of the series by far.

And I'm not saying that out of any hate for Matt Damon, either. I agree that the Bourne movies are better than every single Bond movie and it's not even close.
>>
>>219391982
To be fair the music is what elevates it so high. If you replace the OST with an average Bond soundtrack it would be mid.

This unironically got me laid more often. Up until this point women associated the name Jason with the creepy, loser serial killer.

The Live of Others is pretty good

I must've missed something, this movie was mid to lower-mid? Too many fast cuts, and everything else feels shallow. Some cool choreography, but that's about it. The reason Bourne ends up in this predicament is also retarded.

The other two are better when Greengrass comes in

The Enemy of the State

It's a bit of both. If you take the trilogy as a whole, there is a considerable amount of spy thriller between the chase scenes. He exposes Treadstone in the second film. And he, uh, exposes it again the third film.

Strong start but then it devolved into the same plot beat of all the other movies where the protagonist is now an outsider on the run.

no, this is wrong
Identity is the best film by far, but Greengrass ruined the sequels with his retarded shaky cam idea
the sequels are genuinely unwatchable
I remember watching Jeremy Renner's one in the cinema and being excruciatingly bored

I think Matt damon sucks

i love matt damon.
he's really hot and fit as Bourne but looks really smarmy in the departed and the talented rippley. i've always thought that and it's interesting.

Jason Bourne/David Webb is actually a fake assassin meant to bring out a more dangerous assassin so that he could nuetralize him.
