It's not exactly thriller but I guess it's kind of the point and the whole Le Carre calling card, there isn't much thrilling about the spy genre. It's a lot of walking around and talking to people.It's too bad that the substance of this movie is completely overshadowed by the fact that it's PSH's last.I have nothing to do with intelligence or espionage but I've never felt as much empathy with a protagonist than I have with him here. There's just something about the sheer despair at seeing the opportunity to do your job right and practce your craft right yanked away from you because your superiors need fast and presentable results.
