What happened to the Taco Bell menu is far more egregious. There is almost no point in ordering what you want anymore, they push you to order their stupid “luxe” boxes and fill the “value” menu with things no one wants. They also change it around frequently to confuse people who don’t go there much. A cheesy fiesta potato now costs almost $3.

I left 15 years ago. I go back every year or two, and travel across many states. I don't regret my decision in the slightest. My quality of life is significantly higher in developing countries. The same rent that I pay in a place like Thailand or Georgia for an extremely comfy apartment would get me a shithole in the US, not to mention food costs among other things
>>
>>219399714
I’ve been done with Taco Bell ever since they phased out the Grilled Stuffed Burrito like 10-15 years ago, but I went recently after work for sheer convenience, and I was so pissed that I’ll never go back. For starters, the menu is shit like you said, but on top of that, the portion sizes are pathetic. I ordered the nacho fries and some kind of burrito, with the intention of eating one immediately, and the other later for dinner, and they both ended up being so tiny that I ate them both together. The fries were literally that picture of the scam vending machine sandwiches that show all the meat and vegetables prominently displayed, but when you actually buy it, you realize it’s all front-loaded, and it’s 90 percent bread. The fries came in a tray a little larger than an ash tray, and the fries were one tiny single flat layer. Between the tiny fries and the tiny burrito, I spent just south of $20.

When the guy handed me the bag, the bag was so small that I thought it was maybe just the sauces and napkins or something until I checked it after sitting for a minute or two waiting for the guy to come back with the rest, and realized that was the entirety of the order. I didn’t realize that was the entire order because the guy at the window was rude as fuck, and just said “There’s that” as he was handing me the bag, an then slammed the window in my face. No “thank you”, no “Have a nice day,” just “There’s that”.

I’m not asking to get my ass kissed, but at least pretend like you care. It’s not like the place was busy either, so if he was stressed out, I have no fucking clue why.

Taco Bell was that place you went to because while the food was mediocre slop that was a half-step above Fancy Feast, it was cheap and plentiful, and they can’t even do that right now.
>>
>>219411282
the funny thing is that there's problably less than $5 worth of gold on that $50 steak, but dumb people are still willing to pay a grand for the novelty

Oh get the fuck out of here. You had me thinking it was some guy and his girl on a date. This is normal for a party this large. Going out for $1000 steaks? Do the math. This is all above board

Competitive prices depend on an informed consumer, equal access to the market for both producer and consumer and inelastic demand. Tell me with a straight face how that applies to something like the typical American car dealership.

If the car salesman quotes me a price I am unwilling to pay, I walk away and go to a different dealership. (I do this with the first offer, regardless, because it's the smart play.) What would you rather have happen? The government step in between these parties in their mutual transaction?

I haven't been to 5 Guys since before covid as it was too expensive even back then but I've heard they no longer pour the excess fries in the bag, you just get the paper cup of fries.

Pizza used to be cheap food man. It's insane how even the shittiest cheapest pizza is like 2 bucks a slice now. In that picture is unironically something like 300 dollars of pizza minimum. Back then it was probably 90 bucks.

Right wingers in the US were using oligarch to describe career politician commies from Russia who stayed in power after the USSR fell. You must be really young and thus retarded if you think it's some buzzword libtards have a monopoly on.
>>
>>219425927
You must've been fat as fuck.
>>
Also leftists don't know this is what you get when you import MILLIONS of illegals, raise the minimum wage to LOL levels, and print free money thru cronyism on the state level (welfare and social shit in CA, WA, MN, etc) that eventually floats elsewhere in the United States and raises everyone's prices due to free money brrrr

>>219425927
I don't miss it at all. I lived rural so a) shit tips if none at all b) stress of being on time c) I got into an accident no fault of my own and obviously you have to deal with your own insurance
Good riddance
Also again illegals took all the delivery jobs bc no one vets immigration status thru apps or such

My Pizza Hut area was a 2 mile by 4 mile rectangle in the biggest suburb in USA. Averaged 4 deliveries per hour and gas was 78 cents a gallon the day I started in 1995. I made more back then than I do now doing harder work. And the sluts back then. My god, the constant employee turnover meant lots of sluts.

My local coffee shop also does shakes, and every month they'll do some ridiculous themed one topped with a bunch of shit. I think it's $12 for 20oz.
I don't remember what ice cream they use. Their normal stuff is $6 and pretty good, though. Even the regular chocolate shake comes with a nice drizzle of syrup and a chocolate wafer cookie stuck in the top. And you can get it them with a shot of espresso, which tastes really good.

I frequent TB, but I only just noticed this. I've been pretty much just getting boxes for years, but I would occasionally get a meal. Now that shit makes NO sense because you're somehow getting the same amount of food if not less for twice the price if you don't order a box.

Boxes are literally the only thing keeping TB from being full clown mode. If you order à la carte you’re basically donating to the Yum! Brands yacht fund.

They intentionally price it so you feel stupid not getting the box, then they quietly shrink the items inside the box anyway. Used to feel like you were gaming the system, now it’s just damage control.

I remember when you could grab a couple burritos and a drink for like $6 and feel full. Now you need to spreadsheet that shit before you walk in.
