If anyone is wondering it's because mirrors don't reverse things, they reflect them. You are essentially seeing yourself from the perspective of someone standing in front of you.

It would be like asking why when you talk to your friends you don't see them as being upside down since they're right side is on your left side.

The idea of an object reflecting 100% of the light shot at it and showing a virtual image on it's surface of an object in front of it does kind of break my brain but i guess im a midwit.

I try to map it out in my head, with the light hitting the mirror and bouncing off it on to you. But then i think why does the image of you appear on the mirror in the first place? The light has information on the mirror (image of you) that it does not receive until it has hit you. So how does the light hit the mirror, hit you and get absorbed but somehow the mirror retains an image of you? Hurts my head.
