Surprised no one has done a South American mummy horror movie. Maybe someone has.

is it a Leprachaun mummy?

I’m hoping this one’s going to be disturbing.

I liked his Evil Dead and will be watching this, but damn what a shitty, unimaginative title this is. Is it really meant to belong to Universal's "The Mummy" lineup? The premise doesn't have anything to do with that world.
>>
>>219421505
No
>>
>>219422378
I guess "The Mummy" as a title will grab people's attention.
>>
>>219420695
This just looks like another Evil Dead movie but with a different title. I guess Lee Cronin is a hack.
>>
>>219421568
Hot
>>
>>219422378
There was nothing evil dead about his shitflick besides people being possessed
>>
>>219422763
Why should I care if it conforms to the norms of that "franchise"? It's a good film, rest is irrelevant. Also, the producers (Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell) seemed plenty satisfied with it.
>>
>>219420695
this movie looks freaking amazing

such talent
>>
Little girls aren't scary, thats the problem with little scary girl style of horror movies.
>>
>>219420695
I'm not, this is going to be some weird ass gross cringe horror that purposely unsettles you and doesn't resolve so you leave the theater demoralized. Horror has been trending in this direction for years now and I hate it.
>>
>>219420695
>Warner Bros
Holy fuck,I thought it was some A24 movie or some other b-movie maker until I looked down. This is terrible kek.
>>
>>219424641
You should suck on a shotgun, christcuck faggot. No one wants you here.
>>
>>219420695
The mummy girl is already very weird looking without any makeup, so it doubles when she's looking this gross.

This site and in fact /tv/ in paticular has a pretty large Christian presence. But even so, my opinion has nothing to do with religion. Just holistic, cathartic story telling. Maybe you're projecting your traumatic Christian upbringing/experiences a little?
>>
>>219420695
>oh god our beautiful daughter who was missing for a few years was just found, she looks so beautiful and nothing looks off about her

were the parents really this stupid?
>>
>>219420695
Looks like garbage

Why did hollywood decide the Mummy had to be a woman now? Is Dracula going to be a woman too? The Wolf(wo)man?
>>
>>219420831
Honestly, all these spooky movies need to chill out and bring it back to basics. The modern shit just isn't working
Time period? Late 19th century.
Spooky monster? Vampire, werewolf, mummy, zombies, etc
Locatiom? Appropriate for the monster, put Mummys in egypt, Vampires in spooky castles, etc
And no, don't subvert the tropes. If its a vampire, I want him to be like Dracula. Adjusting small things is fine, but making vampirism scientific or whatever is just gay. So is setting them in modern environments, especially modern urban.
If somebody made a vampire movie where its set in the 1800s, the cast is actually ethnically correct, and the vampire is a scary noble like he's supposed to be, people would eat it up.
>>
>>219427548
A zombie or werewolf movie set in early 19th century London would be kino.
>>
>>219427548
>The modern shit just isn't working
That's true. They should make a mummy movie set in futuristic space.

Ancient mummies being found on Mars during colonization would be pretty cool.

>>219428182
Isn't that just Ghosts of Mars with mummies instead of possession?
>>
>>219420695
Marina Mazepa has some kind of role in this, presumably stuntwork for the mummy. She's becoming a bit of a female Javier Botet for horror films, she did the backwards moving Gabriel in Malignant plus Lisa Trevor in Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City.
>>
>>219428360
I never saw that movie actually. Still, I think mummies and some old culture being there would be cooler, maybe about how Mars turns out to be the first attempt at Earth or something like that.
>>
Interesting plot hook, but the idea that somehow a family is going to get their undead spooky living corpse daughter dropped off with them, and life goes on, is ridiculous. The hospital just signs off on this? The government just says "whatever man, not my problem"? No fucks given from INTERPOL? Not a single scientist or Egyptologist intervenes? Zahi Hawass has nothing to say on the matter?

Lovecraftian Anarcho-Capitalist mummy movie was not on my bingo card.

At least it's a different take than just copying the 1932 film again.

''Werwulf'' is coming sometime this year, set in medieval Britain, high hopes since I like Eggers work just fine.
>>
>>219431541
Based, I'll check it out then. A zombie movie set around then would be something I'd really want, especially if it's during the peak of the industrial revolution with the London Fog.
>>
>>219428441
>did the backwards moving Gabriel in Malignant
Good work
>>
>>219422378
Universal backed out and asked them to remove all connections. The movie was supposed to be renamed so I'm surprised they kept this title.
>>
>>219422378
No, that's why they had to add "Lee Cronin's" to the title.
>>
No, I don't want to watch mourning parents interact with the rotting corpse of their abducted daughter. Just disgusting misery slop.
>>
>>219436665
Why are you incapable of talking about anything without saying "slop"?
>>
>>219421568
how is this allowed
>>
>>219422763
The necromonicon was there, the deadites acted like they always do, there’s plenty of over the top gore that was on the verge of being slapstick, and it even had a Bruce cameo that may or many not be ash. How was the movie nothing like evil dead?
>>
What the hell??? Why did no one tell me they're rebooting the mummy franchise???
>>
>>219420695
Title should be "What Happened to Katie?"
>>
>>219421568
Was Dan Schneider an EP on this?
>>
>>219420695
if they stayed in the egypt setting I wouldve been more inclined to watch it. Kinda the point of using the title of "the mummy"

>>
>>219420695
tom cruises the mummy was shit, appeared to have been shot so you could not see what was going on for half the movie

I'm completely bored of endless francise remakes and sequels, zero interest
>>
>>219421505
They're both loose remakes of the original 1930s Mummy but this one doesn't have anything to do with the Fraser films.
>>
>>219441090
this isn't related to any of those films
>>
