most boring "mission" ever

The first ten or so are always boring because their purpose is to establish the logistics chain for communication, landing, and return. Have read about Artemis so don’t know which mission is planned to be the first landing.
>>
>>219434199
yeah you can
>>
>>219434235
Yes, it's supposed to be as smooth and safe and undramatic as possible. That's what a successful mission looks like.
>>
>>219434409
i wanted to see them fly off to space like team rocket
>>
>>219434235
>listen to Asmongold sit in a moldy room rambling about le culture war issues for 10 hours = WOW THIS IS PEAK
>4 humans going farther away from earth than anyone in history, and livestreaming it to your screen = WTF THIS IS SO BORING

imagine depressurizing the capsule as a prank

excuseme, i'm a zillenial
>>
Are we gonna get 4k video of the moon from their flyby
>>
>>219434199
It's gonna be real embarrassing when someone figures out where they're streaming this from and swats the stream
>>
>>219434199
We can't... We don't know how.
>>
>>219434235
what do you want one of them to go crazy and try and kill the other 3
>>

>>
>>219435672
that would be kino
>>

yes
>>
>>219434199
Why would they even go back there? Like yeah dude, we already knew the moon didn't go anywhere. NASA are such retards.
>>
>>219434199
no, it's impossible to communicate from the moon, don't ask questions

It's funny how memoryholed Apollo 8 is because it was also lame and gay
>three guys flew past the moon
>nobody cared because they were just prepping the bull (Neil Armstrong a year later)

Something else I don't think is common knowledge is how fucking close the ISS is. Motherfucker is only about 20x as far from the ground as a cruising 747. The people on Artemis this week have literally gone a thousand times as far (okay, about 955 times as far) as stationcucks.
>>
As long as they don't burn up in reentry it will be a big win for the America

its also small as fuck, they treat it like its this massive station but its no larger than a small apartment, and can only hold 7 people

>we used to be able to do it, but people back then were more competent, more willing to take risks and less inclined to just squander their budgets and do nothing
Why is this so hard for schizos to believe? There's tons of things that work that way. In fact it'd usually fit their narrative about Society Falling but they choose to contradict themselves just for this one topic.

Shit, Americans in the 1800s were way, way better at building railways than today, were those a psyop too? Fucking imagine anyone ever just going out there and building a railroad from New York to San Francisco these days.

Skylab was smaller overall but more impressive because it was all one room instead of a bunch of cramped corridors.

haha how horrible

why was that girl flying around with her ratty hair everywhere? isn't that going to fuck up components?

Yeah, but it's still pretty boring. Listening to the chatter is a little interesting, but it would be better with an internal camera feed.

>Americans in the 1800s were way, way better at building railways

As usual America simply CHOOSES to suck to benefit corpos.
Railroads went to shit because we converted everything to freight lines. So all the smaller rail lines to small towns and shit got abandoned and we only supported the big profitable lines between major cities. Amtrak was supposed to get priority on all rail lines in the country to keep travel fast, but freight trains became so long that they can't use the passing areas anymore. So Amtrak ends up stuck in the passing areas waiting for the slow as fuck freight trains to go by, adding massive unpredictable delays to trips and making everyone vow to never use Amtrak again. We could pass paws limiting the length of freight trains, but that wouldn't make line go up, so we don't.

We don't lack competency. We lack agency.

two years from now Starlab is going up and it's the same concept, one big ass room (26 feet in diameter, 26 feet tall)

after that it'd be nice if we had a bunch of those, and linked them together like the ISS

Artemis 2 went 252,000 miles, slightly breaking the record of Apollo 13 going 248,000 miles
