>>219437264It truly is a tragedy this will never get a proper director's cut, specially with DL not around anymore.I read the scripts for this on Duneinfo, the theatrical cut is not even remotely close to what he was trying to achieve here, and it's heartbreaking seeing the drafts progress and the cuts being made, only for in the end the theatrical cut being a butchered mess out of his control.And don't fucking come to me telling me about the TV edit or the Spicediver cut, they're horrible. Fucking awful. The TV edit is a fucking mess that might have a couple cool scenes, but they're edited out of order, have bad audio mixing, also the entire film has fucking music playing for some fucking reason. The spicediver cut is just like that because it was based off the TV cut except it's even worse with the amateurish attempts to tie the movie closer to the novel on the surface, but not addressing the actual editing problems with the sound mixing on the TV cut, making it worthless. Any fan-edit that presents itself as a "fix" is presumptious and preposterous unless the editor is savy on the materials and made the right judgement calls on the stuff he had to change.For now, the best way you can watch this movie is by watching the Theatrical Cut, and if you want the deleted scenes so bad, then watch them on youtube. Still better than the Villeneuve one.
