a witch hired death magic assassins to kill an unkillable god, and they did, and so now the laws of nature are fucked (the elden ring is shattered) and someone has to make a new ring or whatever which could either uphold the previous laws of nature and reality or some different options that would change everything
there was also a "break the cycle" type of option if you work with the witch who started the whole thing
