Fondas character--who was totally in the wrong--basically is just a criticism of the reality that a jury is impartial only in that they have no personal gain from voting one way or another, stuff like that.

but the point of a jury is that its random regular peoples opinions, regardless if it's racist or whatever. it's literally just their right to an opinion as a citizen.

it's not the job of a jury to argue how the case is being handled by the legal professionals or to introduce their own conjectures. that's retarded and undermines the whole system.

Naw he's still probably right for the film. There's some doubts but its mostly just undermining witness testimony that put him there, there's still nobody with more motive and means and the alibi is still shitty.
Its a great film despite the reality that shit should've immediately been a mistrial in the first act. Even ignoring how its specifically not the jury's job to start arguing the evidence itself but to just interpret how the lawyers have presented it to them, one of them snuck a fucking knife into the court house.
