>>219462621This was a fun show for a while. Years ago, I enjoyed the writing. It was novel. A cool dystopian parody of Back to the Future. Now it all feels forced, and it's no longer funny. I'll still watch it, but I doubt I'll enjoy it. It had it's run, and it was a great time. But it's expired now. It's turning into Doctor Who. A beloved relic that refuses to die, and nobody involved has the talent to make it good. Shows should only run for five seasons.

>>219462621one more month. cant wait. already watched every other season multiple times and need something new. one thing I liked about the last season was how they are adding a bit of realism in the fact that random people comment on past shit they've done, which makes sense because they've done a lot of shit that had them on the news all over the world, so occasionaly a random character on the street will be like "holy shit you're that guy that (some event from an older episode)" or "hey that's rich Sanchez the smartest guy in the world"even in like the second season their school would freak out when Morty came to class thinking some crazy shit would happen. and another thing is how humanity in the show is no longer shocked about aliens anymore now that they are aware because past episodes. so many cartoons just have everyone forget everything like a blank slate

I actually started watching season 7+ just to see what it was like, but the shift of the general tone of the show is strangely apparent. You can kind of get used to the new voices, but they don't behave the same at all. Even putting the writing and choice of plotlines aside, half of the show was Roiland adlibbing and so without that, Rick and Morty actually lost their souls.
