The years 1965-1975 were the true golden age of television. Shows which remain popular even 'til today; shows that (on reruns broadcast today) still bring in a larger share than new shows being produced.

What are your favorites? See Image for Hogan's Heroes, 1965-1971, which was an example of everything right in a TV show

And before there was the "Marvel Universe", there was the "Hooterville universe; with several interconnected shows.

I'd love to watch these old series but I absolutely can't stand the laugh tracks. Is there any tech to strip the canned laughter out of the audio?

As a kid in the 70s I remember watching:
Streets of San Francisco
Rockford Files
6 Million Dollar Man
Emergency!
Brady Bunch
The Beachcombers
The Muppet Show
Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Hour
Big Blue Marble
The Electric Company
Salvage One
The Carol Burnette Show
In Search Of...
The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew Mysteries
Bewitched

There were many other shows and cartoons but these were my favourites.

Wasn't the star of Hogan's Heroes a notorious sexhaver and he got one of the cameramen from the show to film him bang all sorts of babes? Or am I getting him mixed up?

I just googled it and its even worse than that. His son launched a website where you could watch his dad's porn movies. He claims he did it only to prove that his father never had a penile implant, but he charged money for access to the porn. How fucked is that.

The version of the story as I remember it:
> Bob Crane, the star of the show (he played Hogan), liked to film self-porn, and was an early adopter of home video (as opposed to film), which got him connected with another guy, who was really into the tech of video. At some point (and still officially unsolved), someone murdered Crane; and the whole sex on tape thing leaked out

> emergency
The show lied; D5W and Ringers Lactate doesn't solve every medical problem in the world

> Salvage One
Is that the one where a random dude goes up in space to scrap a rocket (or space station) abandoned by the government?

> Nancy Drew
It's worth watching Pamela Sue Martin in "The Lady in Red" at least once

> Six Million Dollar Man
Overnight, an entire generation of kids started running in slow motion

Good luck with that. The 60's did away with the hassle of a live audience, but they still wanted some sort of feedback cues, so we were stuck with the laugh track. Oddly, the future alternative Roman Empire in the star trek episode also used a form of laugh track (cheers and boos)

Mission Impossible (1966-1973) had the best bongos in any theme song. They just go off in their own direction right in the middle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPTCOLbLWxM

Also heavy on the bongos was the first version of the theme song from The Man From Uncle (1964-1968)

The theme from The Green Hornet (1966-67) is legendary:

> Hawaii Five-O (1968-1980) had the cool opening song with an excellent zoom effect

> everything you needed to now about Gilligan's Island (1964-1992) can be learned just through it's opening theme song
