What were boomer's reactions to Padme back in the day? Did uncs like or dislike her?

Tummy + pokies will win over any man, even a gay one

People generally liked Portman already due to earlier performances but the character was actually considered a bit flat (the queen’s odd voice in 1 was singled out, and the lack of romantic chemistry in the later prequels was also singled out, and it didn’t help her that due to scenes being cut her whole thing in the third one is just being pregnant and dying). Even she said the role was actually damaging to her career in some ways.
Also, I’ll add that the whole element of her actually being called Padme in 2 and 3 when that’s her fake handmaiden name in 1 still makes no sense to me

She felt comfortable giving her real name to an illiterate savage toddler who doesn't know what the name means

Most people generally liked her at first. It wasn't until the prequel hate train started really picking up speed that people began to turn against her

In Phantom Menace everyone thought the Queen of Naboo was weird. Everybody thought Padme was hot, especially in Attack of the Clones. AotC was otherwise a low point in general, I think because everybody expected a repeat of ESB where the middle movie was highly rated.

Jennifer Conne...wait oh my mistake, I mean uh, Natalie Portman was considered really good looking, exceptionally beautiful. Much was said and written about supposed beauty. Whenever you read an article in a magazine or she was mentioned on tv it was always about how beautiful she was and it was the reason she was desired in hollywood. She was supposed to be this big sex symbol I guess.

But oddly enough her career didn't take off that much. And also she is jewish, so that could have been part of the reason why.
