Are you a plex cuck or a jellyfin chad?
Do you have multiple external hdds plugged in like a pajeet or have you built a nas/file server?
Torrent client of choice?
Private trackers or public trackers?
How much kino do you have stored/archived?
and how much of it is pornography?
>>

Jellyfin chad
Multiple, external HDDS salvaged from laptops; NAS server is out of my price point at the moment
qBittorrent
Only on MyAnonamouse, sadge
Well over 4TB in total
Probably 5-15GB of porn

>Do you have multiple external hdds plugged in like a pajeet or have you built a nas/file server?
Setting up a nas/file server sounds like a pain in the ass, and I'm lazy. And they're not plugged in ALL the time, thank you very much.
>How much kino do you have stored/archived?
This is a glowie tier question, but my answer is "not enough."
>and how much of it is pornography?
A bit too much. Picrel
>>
>>219494992
I do not and have never had porn. No point. i rarely watch porn and only ever tube shit to sate the desire, not for entertainment.
i had magazines as a kid and a DVD as a teen but I can only get off to amateur real sex anyway.

Torrents I used Utorrent for over a decade since it came out but I ended up switching it to qbit only a few years ago because Utorrent was getting sluggish.
I dont really store or hoard movies and only not delete ones I think I will watch again.
They are all on a laptop, but at some point, soon i need to transfer everything to an external HD as I need a new laptop and it will come with an SSD, which is impermanent and will lose too much data if I keep transferring to and from.

Kodi + Elementum
Neither, I just stream the torrent and throw it away afterward
Elementum
Public, I've dabbled with private but it;s my habit to only go there for rare stuff. Which isn't in high demand, and thus is hard to seed, since nobody wants to leech it. So it doesn't work for me, and I'm not >getting a fucking seedbox
None, that shit's lame
Well if we're counting porn about 300GB, mostly manyvids rips

I just torrent my kinos with qB from public trackers and load them up onto a couple of old external HDDs that I plug into my TV. If I'm watching youtube I do it off my PC to my TV via an HDMI cable. I've been going this shit for 20 years and it's hard to break old habits. It's a simple life buy I enjoy it.

>Are you a plex cuck or a jellyfin chad?
Jellyfin. I'm not in love with it (their watched/unwatched status system is garbage), but Plex can fuck off with their subscription bs, and outside of these two there are no mature options that I know of (kodi maybe?).
> Do you have multiple external hdds plugged in like a pajeet or have you built a nas/file server?
Server but nothing serious, running off an old office minipc (Thinkcenter).
>Torrent client of choice?
Transmission. Sometimes I don't even bother with the torrent, just rip off it the pirate streaming site (get the m3u8 url from network logs and shove in yt-dlp).
>Private trackers or public trackers?
Public, private is too much footwork to maintain your standing and I hate begging for invites
>How much kino do you have stored/archived?
500GB for now. My rule is that if I have watched it once and wanted to rewatch it twice, I store it. Otherwise I just stream it from some random pirate site. The reason for keeping the collection small is that I follow 3-2-1 backup protocol strictly and backing up a >2TB archive gets expensive and complex fast.
>and how much of it is pornography?
Zero, I got no interest in this shit.

What can I say? I like movies and occasionally shitposting about garbage television.
I make enough money, so I don't notice or care about limited spending on streaming or theater tickets. And I generally don't like accumulating possessions and therefore don't typically purchase physical media.

I wish a qBittorrent instance could work as an alternative streaming server for Stremio so you could watch your private tracker torrents while they're still downloading, and keep torrents complete and seeding so you don't get your accounts banned and there's no buffering on rewatches.
>>
>>219500856
It could but it crosses legal lines.
>>
>>219494992
Cinema reel rips are the way to go. I haven't done it.

Stored on hard drives and glass for long term.

On a massive screen is the only way to enjoy a lot of movies. Failing that: VHS rips.
2D to 3D conversion works well enough too.
>>
my hdd are mostly porno, primarily recordings of camgirls. films usually get deleted a few days after watching unless it's something that took forever to download or a comfort movie i'll watch multiple times. same for tv shows, though i keep more of them than films. dont want to have to rely on "remember wenn" still being healthily seeded if i want to watch it a decade from now, dont have that problem as much with your typical flick.
>>
>>219500895
Using Stremio already does, though it might be a grayer area if you're using a debrid service. You can already have the Stremio streaming server running separately from the client app, you can use that to get around it not being allowed on the App Store version.
I think qBt currently wouldn't be able to handle streaming prioritizing pieces to grab based on where you're scrubbing through the video though. Seems ruTorrent and Deluge can do that with plugins but I don't think Stremio addon devs have made use of that yet

No it's a good thing there are some many restrictions and score. It keeps the quality people in and rewards good behavior, which is good for sharing good quality kino.
I'll agree with that pic with the application process. It really feels like you're on your knees begging for scraps. They should be open for everyone, but with regular mass pruning for non seeders or inactive users.

I think the advantage of of using one over an old laptop + hard drives in an external case is that the laptop wouldn't be able to stream files with high bitrate, whereas the NAS has a more powerful better cpu. I might be wrong though.

I set up my old gaming laptop as a plex server.
Installed ubuntu server on its 1TB native HDD and about 200 movies then chucked in a 2TB SSD and filled that up with all my favourite TV shows.
The problem was, I had a faulty charger and every time this laptop would be unplugged, the laptop would turn off immediately and lose the running config. It was a problem for a year.
I've since replaced the battery and charger so it doesnt crash now but it also wont boot to anything, the HDD is dead or ubuntu is bricked.

Should I just bite the bullet and get a NAS instead of flogging this poor 11 year old laptop?

Opening up the Plex app on my PS4 and having everything sitting there is a lot easier than navigating through folders.
The real advantage of Plex tbough is remembering which episode of a TV show I'm up to.

? I just click on a couple folders and it's nearly instantaneous.

The main advantage, from asking AI, is a Plex type server gives you immediate access in multiple rooms/devices. This is compared to a laptop+HDMI+TV connection where the laptop is asleep and you don't have to boot it up every time, in which case, you'd have to disconnect and reconnect the laptop/drive. The other differences are minimal.
