It’s more likely we’ll get a Stargazer film series showing how Picard became worthy of the Ent-D. It can be set in the gap between TOS and TNG for maximum reference potential.

>>
>>219495892
That's a good question...

The actor who played Riley (not O'Reilly), Bruce Hyde, famously decided to walk away from his acting career shortly after his two-episode stint on Star Trek ("The Naked Time" and "The Conscience of the King"). He transitioned into a "hippie" lifestyle for a time before eventually earning a PhD and becoming a professor of communication studies. By the time Star Trek: The Motion Picture went into production in the late 70s, he had been out of the industry for years.

What is is that makes you instantly recognize non-actors just by looking at their faces?

Section 31 was best in DS9 early on when it was questionable whether it even was a real or it was just Sloan alone, larping. Kind of a shame that by the end of the show it was made pretty clear it was an organisation with some considerable strength AND was acknowledged to be an actual documented thing by the higher ups
>>
>>219503880
The point is that you're a mental retard or a child who is confuddled by the concept of background actors. The reason they look like that is because the director said
>For the bodyguard characters get me 2 tall young brown haired guys (because Sloan is old, shorter and has light hair so he being different one will naturally make him stand out in a shot with the 3 of them)
and then said
>Ok you bodyguard guys act like bodyguards and don't direct your gazes at the person Sloan's talking to or seem like you're involved in the conversation, act stoic like guards and don't draw attention to yourself in any way in particular.

It's almost like it's a thing called a TV show and the people that make it do things in a specific way in order to get an intended result that's crazy huh? I mean not to me because I have a fucking brain but I'm sure I just blew yours with new information.

My interpretation to reconcile that is that Section 31 was always a LARP, it's just higher ups started looking away / playing along because of the war.
>>
>>219504379
That would be my pitch to ChudBS-Paramount if I were a Hollywood Jew. Fix Trek with three TV shows:

1. A 3 long-episode miniseries about a Starfleet Intelligence unit in the Dominion War era hunting for Sloan. It would recontextualize everything about the DS9 portrayal to make it absolute, unyielding, rock-hard canon that S31 was just Sloan - an SFI officer with a touch of 'tism about the history of intelligence organisations who used his clearance to read the classified files about Section 31, an Earth Starfleet organisation completely BTFO and rolled by by Archer & crew during the founding of the Federation and never seen nor heard from again(because it was gone, deceased, an ex-intel agency) - and a few malcontents. The gajillions of collabourators Bashir theorised? Actually a small handful of officers in key postions being blackmailed or mind-controlled by S31. The stonewalling from SFC? Not evidence of them sanctioning S31, but in fact them keeping a couple of nosy provincial officers with a limited perspective sidelined while the already active SFI investigation did its job. In the end they put what's left of Sloan's little band in prison, restorting the moral authority of the Federation and Starfleet.

2. 5-7 seasons of 8-12 episode serialised story in the form of an adaptation of the Vanguard novel series, with proper original TOS aesthetics. If it does well the Seekers spinoff stories could be adapted/continued in the same format.

3. Most importantly - an actual NEW Star Trek show. New Enterprise, new crew, in the actual fucking future(of TNG, circa early 2400's). 7 seasons, 16+ episodes a season, episodic apart from occasional 2-parters, and absolutely zero pandering to the Modern Audience.

Never gonna happen of course, but I can dream.

The only real difference between slavery and serfdom is being bound to the land versus personal property. We assign more emotive values to the later because niggers, but individual Cardassians didn’t
own individual Bajorans. The Cardassian government chose where Bajorans would live and work and permits were required to move locations which is why people smuggling was a thriving industry. It really is closer to being serfs. Especially given the marginally higher autonomy they were afforded. Cardassians only bothered them when they needed workers, which is standard in particularly on Russian serfdom

You do realize don't you that television shows don't just pop into existence, but are the result of years of planning, writing, and development ahead of time. Just because the audience doesn't see the show until it is actually released doesn't negate the fact that the ones involved in the planning, writing, development, AND financing the show must have admired it long before it ever went on the air.
Now did I really need to explain that to you, or do you just get your jollies out of being an insufferable prick?
