how bad actually is tron ares?
jesus is it really that bad
>>219499629I don't think it's bad at all, it's roughly on par with Legacy (they're both better than the original)I like Nine Inch Nails more than Daft Punk so I think it's soundtrack is better but your mileage may vary.It pretty obviously continues on where Legacy's ending was going except with Flynn and Cora written out. So unlike Legacy being 10% real world 90% Grid, Ares is the reverse and it almost entirely in the real world. So whether you're into that or not is also up to you
>>219499629very bad. you can watch it once and not vomit, but that's basically it>>219501012no, Legacy is a masterpiece, and Ares is a complete mess>It pretty obviously continues on where Legacy's endingno, it pretty much ignores Legacy, gives it like 2 lines of lipservice, introduces all new characters, new corporations, new villains, new stakes, new everything. not saying it's necessarily a bad thing (it is), just pointing out your lie
HERRO TRON I AM NEW FRYNN
>>219501012you're a lying cunt>>219501732Legacy really is a masterpieceheavy focus on moral philosophy, amazing sci fi themes, it feels like the true culmination of everything "Tron" could and should be, the only complaint I could possibly have is it's not a fully realized trilogy
>>219499629AM I STILL THE PERFECT SEQUEL?
>>219502175perfect in every way
>>219499629It's a pretty bipolar movie. Some great special effects and some of the worst jeeted cgi sharing the screen. Some good acting performances, even Leto is adequate, and then some awful ones, the worst of which is the fucking MC. The good stuff makes it worth a run through but you'll never want to watch it again.
>>219502425Pretty much this. I expected a disaster but instead it was a 5/10.
>>219502175um... yeah?I will give one example: when Sam first enters the Grid, it's time for us to see it. From the story standpoint. But not from the pacing standpoint, because thematically, not all the emotional pieces are in place yet. Thus the movie cheats, and everything is a bit blurred, we don't see the full Recognizer (only parts of it), the main theme does not yet blast in full power. We get this>oh shit, what's happeningvibe, but not much else.>And then...the direction in Legacy is fucking tight, autistic attention to detail like that. Ares just meanders.
>>219499629It's good if you like Tron, and the soundtrack is great
