Didn't you make a thread saying it's awful a few hours ago? And it is quite awful. Just awkward somewhat Malick-like attempt at philosophizing. It's completely uncharacteristic of Gus Van Sant too because when he goes artsy it's usually the opposite of talky philosophizing. Death Trilogy is mostly slow-cinema with minimal dialogue. And by the time The Sea of Trees was made he also had a very set visual style that's also absent from this film. It's like someone else made it.
