Can some anon recommend some good mid-late 90's period drama's. I'm thinking in the style of picrel.

You mean something gay?

I mean sure, I like Mckellen's stuff overall (even the overtly gay parts).

This movie is shit. It's just an old rich gay man attempting to seduce a young straight ex-marine. It's like someone made a live action adaptation of some gay literotica smut story. It doesn't contain any memorable scenes except the one where McKellen tries to rape a naked Brendan Fraser. There's zero reasons to watch it unless you're into that shit.

It's quite literally a bio-pic of the guy who directed Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein. You can say that you don't like or agree with the subject matter, but James Whale was an openly gay man and heavily active in the gay scene at the time. He threw several nude parties at his villa and invited many young male actors to attend.

The guy was a flaming homo, which is depicted truthfully in the film. The seduction scenes with Brendan Fraser was added for dramatic effect, but the subject matter still remains true.

He wants Fraser to kill him and is trying to goad him into it. It's literally why he goes "strangle me break my neck!".

>homo is mentally ill
nothing new

Nah, it does have one other memorable scene.

>Oh, there was a time when this house was full of young men. Some of them even posed for me, right where you're sitting now. Of course they weren't nearly so bashful, oh no this studio was full of bare buttocks... and pricks! Mmm, hard, arrogant pricks.

kino of the highest order!
