>Lord of the Files
Is this about the Trump/Epstein story?
If so, why are there little boys instead of little girls?
>>
who is the target audience of a show full of little boys
>>
The entire production is born of spite, it will be terrible

Clintoln actually.

Kids

Anon, let it rest.
The whole first batch of the Epstein files was meant as a hitpiece for Clinton, and the best they could do was a dozen photos that show him taking a bath and some invitations to parties in New York. And nothing since. The whole Monica Lewinski thing unironically had more actual substance than that.
Meanwhile you literally get hundreds of mentions of Trump in way more incriminating shit. And that's just where they forgot or messed up censoring his name.

people that read the book when people read books

Is there a single remake of a 20th century film that's actually good? Usually not. Just watch the one from the 90s.

>show me
Look it up for yourself, anon. I don't have that shit saved. (Because I'd rathen not download the tons of actual child pawn they forgot to censor as well.)

the twist will be that a bunch of little girls had their own island and it was a utopia

You do realize that you can literally access those documents and check for yourself, right?

What do you think my country is, exactly?

Why did schools make us read this and not Swiss Family Robinson?
>>
I liked it. I don't care for american politics.
>>

Swiss Family Robinson is just a cheap rip-off of Robinson Crusoe. Hell, there was a literal genre of this type of exploitation literature:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robinsonade This continued into the 19th century, where a Victorian author wrote The Coral Island. It was the book continuously mentioned in the original Lord of the Flies, and it was likely the book that Golding read in schools: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coral_Island
The Coral Island was that exact scenario, just with British school boys. Because they would be the civilization, and all threats were external. Then World War 2 happened. And Golding saw how barbaric man would act in the face of war. Even the supposedly 'superior' British white man was a savage in war.

>b-but muh real life example

They weren't white
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongan_castaways
If anything, their upbringing and familiarity prevented them from breaking down and actually helped them work as a team. In contrast, we have enough cases of white people breaking down in similar closed space experiments.

>Stanford_prison_experiment
Highly controversial, because the results cannot consistenly be reproduced in repeated trials.
Also not quite appropriate as a parallel, since the experiment created an artificial situation with an already established hierarchy and power dynamic that encouraged a certain behaviour, whereas the Lord Of The Flies dynamic is imagined as arrising naturally.
>>
>>219531358
Indeed. I think it also important to note when Golding wrote LotF. Back when I read the story for school, the assumption was that there was a nuclear war and the boys were being evacuated. The book sadly does not expand on this, but there are a few hints: a few references to the fact the boys were evacuated during wartime, the downed pilot whose corpse scared the boys, and the final scene of the book where the rescuing officer may have been eyeing a cruiser, unsure if its the enemy or one of their own ships.
That said, I don't think Golding is trying to said that you need a war to expose the brutality within people. Rather, people will be brutal or savage if they're pushed towards it. Much of the savagery of the hunters came about because of the irrational fear of a Beast, along with the natural death of some of the boys (by chapter 3, some of younger boys already started dying due to drowning or some other random things)

This book and story has no females in it. Its as manly as The Thing
