Like that Simon Whistler guy does for pop-culture or Derek Muller does for pop-science. Just that she fills the nerd-culture niche.

I was pretty left wing for a long time until I started noticing

seeping into literally every discussion.
Left wing minds are so utterly broken by fascism it's insane.
They'll call two contrary positions equally fascist.

>They'll call two contrary positions equally fascist.
Two contrary position can be equally fascist.
Stalin and Hitler were both fascist. They pertty much disagreed about every single detail in how a fascist state should be run economically though.
And once you add in Churchill and Truman, it starts getting all over the place.

Does this even mean anything? is there real credible examples of this, or is this just some way for lazy fucks to complain about any level of standards or accountability in society?
>>
>>219537331
Yes, anon. The USSR was a fascist state by every single definition of that word, unless you literally add in some "right wing" condition that never existed in historical fascism.

Does fascism just mean 'authoritarian' to you? Because it doesn't to anyone who understand a little about about history. The Cominterm practically created the practice of leftists using fascism as a generic 'bad-guy' term of abuse rather than as an ideological descriptor. And here you are doing it and turning it back on the originators of the practice. You are retarded and confused.

Yes, that's my point. Everyone and everything becomes fascistic.
Romanticism has been called fascistic. Lord of the Rings too.
The implication? If you love the countryside too much, you're a fascist.
Ah okay, so what if we glorify steel, the factory, industry and so on?
No no, that's mimicking Futurism which was influential on Italian fascism. Or it echoes Hitler's Germania. Etc.

The critique you're making comes from the Frankfurt School originally who claimed that fascism and 'red fascism' (Stalinism) were byproducts of the Enlightenment fixation on reason.
But no leftist would agree if you said that fascism is the most rational system.
Therefore fascism is both X and not X.

No wonder leftists have no praxis anymore. You're all terrified that any action will recreate fascism. That's why one of the biggest communists in the world calls himself a "conservative Stalinist" and argues for a "wait and see" approach to capitalism.

Funny that you're literally making the argument that anyone who calls others "fascist" in a derogatory manner can therefore not himself be fascist. Because words matter more than actions, right?

>Yes, that's my point. Everyone and everything becomes fascistic.
Except that Churchill and Truman did absolutely have a fascist mindset. So how do you call that out without using the word?
Now, if someone calls Lord of the Rings fascist, that seems a stretch. But in that case, you should ask for the reasoning behind it. Even if you don't agree with the conclusion, the exchange might be otherwise fruitful - if only because it helps you fully form an opposing standpoint.
>>
>>219537234
The most important distinction of fascism is a cultural extra-governmental public support. Since the etymology is faggot, ie a bundle of weak sticks bundled together creating a big strong stick
>>
>>219537768
Churchill was a liberal who endorsed whig history. I would say that a crucial element of the fascist mindset is the fascist historiography whereby history unfolds predominantly through conflicts between peoples defined as ethnocultural groups. Otherwise we use a definition too broad that then includes everything from Romanticism to the Enlightenment which, in my experience, most leftists are more than eager to do, as throwing out many centuries of Western civilization appears revolutionary.

Nah, it does not. It's just wordgames and gaslighting. It's exactly like when cunts like her call someone 'far-right', but it doesn't mean anything, because there is no 'normal right' in her mind.

>Churchill was a liberal
Churchill was economically liberal goingby the antiquated "invisible hand" definition, anon. He was not a social liberal in the sense that American politics use that term nowadays. Hell, Margaret Thatcher was liberal in the same sense Churchill was.
Churchill was, juding by his words and actions, almost certainly authoritarian, militaristic, elitist/classist, bordering nationalistic, with at least latent totalitarian ambitions. In my books, that's enough to at least consider bringing the "fascist" label into play.
>I would say that a crucial element of the fascist mindset is the fascist historiography whereby history unfolds predominantly through conflicts between peoples defined as ethnocultural groups.
That would imply that fascism necessitates an actual conflict with an outside adversary. I'd dispute that, even though the existence of an outside group that can be antagonised is probably a practical necessity to keep the system stable.
>>
>>219538276
>NotRealCommunism

Either way, no one thinks that communism and fascism are diametrically opposed anymore. Your whole standpoint is that of an uninformed factory worker in the early 1940s.

I used to be left wing, but then I realized that all the men who have happy families, are fit and healthy and have well paying jobs are either apolitical or right wing. All the men in my life who were depressed(or became trannies), alcoholics and struggled with employment are left wing.

I pick the side that has people I'd rather be social with.
>>
>>219539237
pretty much. the successful and happy people i know are conservative or just dont give a shit about politics, aka the "wow thats crazy bro" phase of political engagement.

partisan liberals are often hysterical old white women, the mentally ill, addicts or people filled with resentment over the "privileges: or success they feel is somehow being denied them, they channel this resentment into fighting whatever buzzword is popular at the time.
>>
>>219539347
thats just sample bias.
I'm from a very conservative area and the biggest fuckups are hardcore trumpers.
theres losers in every large group of people.

but happy and successful people usually dont get too deep into politics. they take care of the 12 people in their immediate lives, help their communities and their town and thats about the extent of it.
>>
>>219539237
I work at a job with a lot of old timey blue blood whites but they're all basically conservative except when it comes to union benefits
It's a very small segment of basedciety that used to be much more influential
No one likes israel though because we're all good catholic italian or irish americans
