My issue with sex scenes in movies is that they often feel like an obligatory thing you have to get out of the way. They rarely reveal anything new because they are often shot and acted in a boring safe way lacking any real passion and rawness. Its like how in action/thriller movies you have that obligatory family life of the protagonist at the start before he loses it all and the movie actually gets going. Youve seen it many times so its boring.

I don't really get the hate for sex scenes. I can understand not caring about them one way or the other, that is me 99.9% of the time. I can also get thinking that they don't contribute much to the movie. I don't agree on the whole but sometimes that is true. But a lot of movies have scenes that could probably be cut without too much loss. You don't hate the scene for it though.Perhaps it is because sometimes depending on the company you are in they can feel a little awkward to sit through.
