I remember when in the 90's, I watched children's movies and TV shows there was this token redhead/ginger character. He or she always get bullied and have nicknames like "Red", "Carrot Top" etc. They were the most uncool character. If they were not bullied, they were the bully. The character also portrayed as Irish or Jewish.
One of my best friends growing up was a redhead. HS life was miserable for him whereas his younger sister who also was a redhead was a smokeshow. I dated her for a little while. She was the source of my lifelong firecrotch appreciation.
