What did you make of this film?I like Lynch but was really late on watching this one.It actually feels like torturous in length and oddly gripping. I don’t think there are that many movies that can feel as unsettling as this.
It's an ancient Polish folktale supposedly,
Avatar 3 was better.

I watched it three times in 2 days upon first watch as my fifth Lynch film. I wouldn't call it very unsettling, many films clear it including Velvet for me, but it is eery, puzzling and seemingly gives you all you need to know to get it, with the prostitute, the old woman's story, the mini plays, the Drive-y/Synecdoche-y play-in-play and so on.My take is that it's a bit like Vertigo, a cursed ending is fated as you see throughout the films. The traumatised woman is reliving a nightmare where a politer version, the making of the cursed film, is her escapist fantasy, but she is hounded nonetheless as the intrusive thoughts keep hounding her, symbolically or otherwise.
>>219585607I liked the additional Rabbits moment.
>>219585719At the end did you think it was still in a dream sequence? That’s what I thought lynch implied, she really wasn’t in the clear.
watched it but it didn't leave any mark on me, nor do I recall pretty much anything about it (other than how fucking long it was) or felt compelled to do any follow-up research on it it just exists and I doubt I'll try watching it again
>>219585742I actually saw rabbits on YouTube as a stand-alone first before watching Inland, I had no idea it was going to tie in with the context of the movie. It feels like a total art house by it self.
>>219585607Lynch used ai upscaling to remaster this movie lol
honestly too long so I never bothered
>>219585956Thank goodness he crooked before he managed to sully more of his legacy with AI cocksucking
>>219585646The scenes that are in Polish are the ones just based on it if I remember right
>480p because muh digital is the future!>AI upscalingI just don’t have the patience to sit through 3 hours of low res shit. I am fine with a movie that’s “puzzling” and “confusing” I like most of Lynch’s stuff but it feels like a chore
>>219589622This feels like a chore* other movies that are heavily symbolic usually have great cinematography along with them as well
Lynchslop, some of his adverts are better
>>219585607This image alone is enough for me to never watch it
>all those plebs filtered by LynchkinoThe absolute state of neo-/tv/
I liked it but really only loved the scene where Dern is dying and that chick is rambling about her cousin
>>219590170its not even a proper scene iircjust a photoshop still the camera floats in and out of for a whole minute or so truly lynchian
the movie almost made me fall asleep twicefor that its kinono other director would get points for making the audience fall asleep
>>219590259that was very nightmareish, one of those dreams that make you actually wake up and wonder what the fuck
>>219590279I had my fair share of Lynch with The Return. I heard it's basically a spiritual sequel to Inland Empire, so I'll pass on that one. TP S3 already had enough bad photoshops
>>219585607I think it's the only lynch movie ive never seen. I tried but it looks so bad i had to turn it off.
>>219585607Honestly it's my favorite David Lynch movie. I've seen in twice in theaters (I preferred the older, lower-res version, but the new version doesn't completely ruin it) and it really drew me in both times. For as kaleidoscopic and disjointed as it is, it follows a specific thread where every scene progresses from the one before it, so it really kept me "in it" the whole way through. Terrifying, dark, weeeird, but also very watchable and inviting, in a strange way. At least for me.
>>219585956Good>>219589356No one will remember when you die lol
David Lynch made mediocre movies and managed to attract the dumbest most arrogant obsessed swine. Unfortunately he was a net negative for the creative industry.
>>219585607It's the ultimate Lynch film, a real test of how much you can just let yourself go and FEEL the movie instead of watch it. I like it more every time I see it, but it's still not my favorite.
>>219585956Lynch was also a driving force in embracing digital cameras and SoV for filmmaking. He was very open to experimenting with technologies. What’s the problem?
