If PTA adapts this I will literally fly down to LA and slap him right in the face.

Pynchon? Inherent Vide and to some extent One Battle After Another obviously. But I would replace the latter one (which is quite linear compared to his books), with any works of the Coen brothers instead; they were experts at adding seemingly random events mixing up the plot at any time.

You don't think he could make it into an acceptable pic? Trust the man

He just doesn't need to, it's very much a Blood Meridian situation where not only is it unnecessary there's too many hurdles to get over.

I've had similar thoughts about this rumored adaption of The Bell Jar and of all fucking people, Billie Eilish playing you know who? Absurd.

I read this entire book in highschool and the only part I remember is the section where the lady shits in some guy's mouth for his sexual pleasure.

I understand. Never read GR (I know about the meme that no one ever reads it), and it does looks like a daunting task.

I live in LA. I would stop you.

If you ever wanna try just remember this, density, scale and complexity. Assimilate to this mindset, his work becomes digestible. It's not a gigantic middle-finger like Finnegans Wake.

Pynchon stuff are actual novel work instead of some bizarre prose gibberish, i think people exaggerate when they speculate about his works. They are actually fairly simple yet bizarre adventure novels with dense prose. Inherent Vice and Shadow Ticket are good places to start with.

Is it just me or do his books feel dated now? Kinda feels like Post-Modernism was really fresh and cool before the internet but now just feels exhausting and redundant. I dont really need someone to illustrate how interconnected and crazy and incomprehensible and stuffed with information and pop culture the world is, I am forced to experience this every day forever.

I won't, it's just not for me, despite all the curiosity I possess towards it, but thanks for the tip.
