You see her putting on a headset because in these concerts, the music has to be perfectly aligned to what's happening in the video, so what Tar is listening to is a timed click-track, or a metronome.She effectively has become a robot, and no longer wields any of her ability to creatively influence the orchestra. Monster Hunter has little to do with it, it's meant to show the ultimate end of her fall, and that she no longer has any power or influence whatsoever.

>>219598458Personally I disagree, t. someone with three degrees in classical music, I know plenty of friends who are now working as sound designers or composers for video games, and I even played for a video game soundtrack and found it very fulfilling But I totally see your point, I think a majority of those serious about art music would hate the confines of having to make video game music, or play for video games, which just adds to the humiliation of Tar ending up in this position at the end of the film--her character would absolutely detest being put in that position.
