Why does everything associated with Nickelodeon feel like an abandoned mall? It's hard to describe.
>>219602498Pedo network
>>219602498I too, have a tumblr
:O
Honestly cable just plain died. What do kids even watch now?
>>219602498Bygone era but it lingers on somehow, just like malls.
>>219602623Good question What do they watch now ?
Their worst mistake was abruptly cancelling Invader Zim
every channel owned by viacom became absolute shit, mtv became nothing but reality tv show reruns, nick became nothing but spongebob reruns, its too late to fix it now, no one watches cable
>>219602623Mr Beast, or whatever godforsaken influencers now. They'll be drones without sensible guidance from older people.
not that hard to describe. 30 years ago nickelodeon was in it's prime right? imagine 30 years before you were born was design looked like
>>219602498Because it’s 90’s in its aesthetics and malls started dying in the 90’s and never really changed much after that
>>219602650Mr Beast
>>219602660I hate Invader Zim with a burning passion, probably stemming from my first gf being obsessed with it and constantly saying "DOOM! DOOM HEHEHE" when we were 14. Show was fucking retarded man, if some faggot on 4chan is nostalgic for it we really have hit the grimmest point in history.
I stopped watching cable tv when I decided to keep the cable modem in my bedroom. It was also around the time BitTorrent was becoming popular and YouTube came out a few years after.
>>219602498I remember visiting this place when I went to Universal Studios as a kidWe didn't get to see any show tapings but they had some other show going on. Another kid was chosen to go up and participate and got slimed.
>>219602615⊂=====3
>Why does everything associated with Nickelodeon feel like an abandoned mall? Because it literally is.traditonal tv is dead and all the money goes to streaming slop now.
I'm trying to remember the last decent show they even had. Victorious seemed decent but it's been so long, maybe it was shit. Seems like the last big wave of decent shows was Dan Schneider's stuff.
>>219602498Because it IS abandoned. It peaked in the 90s/early 2000s and then cable died. So they shifted towards licensing merchandise and coasting off of toy sales. Now this thread made me a little sad because I grew up in California and never got to go to the location in Florida despite it being advertised on TV here all the time. Now it's gone. Like tears in rain.
>>219602623MrBeast and CocoMelon. I've also seen prams with iPad cradles attached that just play that shit on loop for the babies in there, it's fucking over for gen alpha or whatever gen we're up to now.
hard to describe because you're a zoomer with a limited vocabulary repeating things from a small pool of buzzwords which you read (the only thing you read) from the internetabsolutely diabolical fr
>>219602623they watch youtube shorts/series and vloggers. they'll grow up to be the most unimaginative drones to ever walk the earth. they'll probably depend on AI to do anything remotely creative.
>>219602868the current lineup is brutal lmao
>>219603213I remember seeing SpongeBob premier when I was a kid and I already knew that was going to become their bread and butter at the cost of airtime for several other good shows at the time.
>>219602623My girlfriend has 4 kids that just watch random youtube shorts slightly sped up at full volume on their phones. Sitting in a room with them is a mindfuck.
>>219602498Nickelodeon jumped the shark when spongebob premiered
>>219603362>girlfriend with 4 kidshow fucking desperate are you for pussy, dawg?
>>219603362>My girlfriend has 4 kidsDo retards like you not have critical thinking skills? Run away, retard.
CableTV brands will be phased out over the next 15 years. It's already happened to MTV and Discovery.
>>219603362>dating a single motherlol lmao even
>>219603362I really struggle to understand guys like you anon. She was stupid enough to get knocked up four different time and still couldn't tie a man down. Don't you question how you factor in here? Do you not suspect you are being used?
>>219603880She's smokin hot and incredibly interesting. Simple as.
>>219604022You are extremely retarded. I feel bad for you.
>>219602650Nastya
>>219602623Little kids just watch Youtube, but as they get older they do start to appreciate more normal stuff.
Wasn't it the dan schneider drama that basically killed nick? or am i completely off
>>219602498ozymandiasmaxxing. we gonna look upon they works and LOL
>>219602728This. And it Nick used to be emblematic of corporations using color and stylization to stand out. Now, like the rest of them, they are minimalists in style, and the 90s color palate is long gone in exchange for something more boring.
>>219602498Everything Viacom owns feels that way
>>219602623streamers
>>219602623>>219602650Ladybug, SpongeBob, anime, old Disney movies like Wall-E or Beauty and the Beast etc.
>>219602498That building looks quite 1990s and early 2000s. Nickelodeon feels very of that era, too. That can be good or bad, but I think almost all the Millennials have moved on, by now. Are Zoomers even interested in Nickelodeon in a retro sort of way, in recent years?
>>219608240Not really, people have kind of grown up beyond it. I think the only thing that remains popular from that era is Spongebob and that's probably because it's still going and is somehow still moderately popular with kids. Spongebob also has a high popularity in Japan too.
>>219607684I had this idea that if I have a kid, I'll show it the movie Dumbo and tell them that Dumbo is the only movie that exists and when people go to the movies they're just watching Dumbo. I mean, I won't do that because that would be sick, but I've had the idea.
>>219608240You’re not wrong. The Orlando studio in OP’s pic closed in 2005. I genuinely don’t know why they thought they could somehow make central Florida a production hotspot.
>>219608983you'd need to isolate the kid for it to work, they'll be so stunted the dumbo thing would be like the least of their problems. Closest I've seen to this are some Catholic kids I went to christian camp with who'd only read and watched media aimed at christians, like movies, cartoons and comics about bible stuff. Some of the bible comics were surprisingly decent though.
>>219610186They probably wanted to be like Disney or maybe there were good tax reasons for it, sort of like how Georgia became a filming hotspot for a while.
>>219603213maybe they get to air the new Animorphs show that is supposedly going to be made
>>219610358Looks like it was largely used for game shows and variety shows with the exception of a few sitcoms. Clarissa Explains it All was entirely made in Florida.
Think of all the people we mcfreakin' lost before we could open the Nickelodeon time capsule
>>219612013Wherever that is is gonna be bulldozed and cemented over before it being opened
>>219602623Paw patrol, peppa pig, blippi, watching kids play with toys(usually forced to by their dad) on youtube
>>219613003It's the cure for cancer.
>tfw you never got to see Nickelodeon Studios in FL before it closedPain.
Reminder that Cartoon Network was the golden age and peak of animated cartoons
Did yall see the clip of Epstein appearing on an episode of iCarly? Its definitely him
>>219602498
>>219602498>Memphis Design era filtered down to youth media, that stayed over into the 00s' Frutiger Aero incipient vapor wave aesthetic as it persists todayAndy Warhol's sensibilities taken on and added to at a significant delay. Nickelodeon defined American Animation style in a way that hadn't been updated since Hannah Barbara. Then it just shit itself and passed the stench on to Cartoon Network.
