Only the most annoying neckbeard redittor snob with a nasally voice would tell you to skip any season 1 episodes. That season is fine, they just crank up the quality in later seasons, both in concepts and character writing.

You just jgnore everyone and watch season 1 anyway. Are you allergic to schlock? The other seasons have stinkers, too. If you genuinely cant stomach the first season (which didnt get the show cancelled btw) will you really enjoy watching 5 entire other seasons that much? Like I said, they are not all zingers, episode by episode
People bitch when a show dips in quality after a few seasons but when it jumps up in quality they also bitch. There are people every day saying literally DO NOT WATCH tng season 1, or ds9 seasons 1&2, but this is like men who have had sex with crazy women telling you not to risk having sex- it's just an experience, the bad episodes wont hurt you. You are not special and not in need of protection from season 1 of shows that improve over time.
