just watched all three indiana jones films for the first time in ages. i'd say 3 > 1 > 2. is this correct?
>>
>>219662758
Yes. Last Crusade is a perfect action movie. Raiders is iconic and Temple Of Doom is decent but lacking.
>>
>>219662854
The woman really drags down Temple of Doom.

Should have just been Indy and Short Round.
>>
>>219662854
>>219662758
Being a high IQ adult is realizing Temple is the best because Spielberg used the other two movies as just an excuse to espouse anti German propaganda.

40 years of Spielberg movies and you have to use a fine toothed comb to find the ones that don't involve the Holocaust
>>
>>219662758
I like Raiders the least. Yeah, it's the cornerstone fro. Which the other two build, but it's just not as entertaining.
It's still very good.
>>
>>219662951
Hot take: the Nazis were bad, actually
>>
>>219662854
>Last Crusade is a perfect action movie

They ran out of money at the very end and jewberg literally didn't give a fuck about how the movie ended. That's why it just abruptly ends so piss poorly.
They just leave the cup, all the soliders magically just vanish, indies dad just doesn't care about the cup anymore even though he's been obsessed over it his entire life, the earthquake inside the building just mysteriously stops outside with no damage to the building, no one goes back in after the quake to check on the knight.
They just didn't give a fuck about ending it well because the money ran out
>>
>>219663106
They really weren't, especially if you take into account that the holocaust probably didn't happen at all.

And if you're really educated, you'd know France set up WW2 to be inevitable out of spite and greed
>>
>>219663185

This, plus they just let the chick die in the end with the explanation "She Nazi Tho". It just seemed like a shit take.

>>219662758
2 > 1 >>> 3
>>
>>219663342
>2 > 1 >>> 3
Is the correct answer.
>>
>>219662937
The woman in ToD is less annoying than all the silly slapstick shit in Last Crusade.
>>
>>219663185
>>219663342
The point of the ending is Henry Jones Snr calling his son Indiana and by doing so recognising him as his own man. I'm sorry if that was too subtle for you.
>>
>>219662951
>40 years of Spielberg movies and you have to use a fine toothed comb to find the ones that don't involve the Holocaust
true, it's hard to think of one
>>
>>219663209
Yeah, the moon landing didn't happen either and the Earth isn't even round or orbits the sun anyway.
>>
>>219663342
>>219663523
3 was aboslutely childish.
2 had a Scrappy Doo child and a clumsy girl archetype
Putting either in the vicinity of 1 is just pure lack of intelligence.
>>
>>219664379
>Scrappy Doo child

His name was Flim-Flam! Only real 80s kids will know this!
>>
>>219662758
Last Crusade is easily the weakest of the trilogy. It's just a lazy remake of Raiders
>>
Alison Doody. Kek
>>
>>219662758
it's 1 > 3 > 2
3 has that stupid flashback opening sequence and WAY too much goofy slapstick (the plane flying into the tunnel is the worst part) whereas 1 is basically a perfect movie
>>
>>219664396
As bad as Rudy from the Cosby Show.

4 was better than 2
I haven't seen 5.
>>
The correct opinion is Raiders >>>> intergalactic leap >>>> everything else.
>>
>>219662758
>3 >1 >2
You've got that right. You must be a kino connoisseur.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine > Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom > Indiana Jones and the Great Circle = Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade > Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark > Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb = Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull > Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

>>219662951
Indiana Jones is 80% Lucas 20% Spielberg
>>
>>219667109
oops i forgot
>Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis = Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
>>
>>219662758
>i'd say 3 > 1 > 2. is this correct?
Correct! Last Crusade is debatably better than Raiders but personally I prefer it for the themes and for Indy's growth as a character. The music is 11/10, it surpasses even Raiders in that regard and I don't think that's a controversial thing to say.

2 is definitely the black sheep of the trilogy. You have TWO comic relief sidekicks to Indy, which sucks, and one of them is completely useless and frankly somewhat annoying. And then the whole setting of the film is disgusting brown people doing disgusting brown people things, as opposed to being background elements that beautiful white people interact with in pursuit of a goal. I know that sounds racist but it's true. The stakes are also not directly connected to Indy at all: he could just walk away from all this and nothing would change. They try to say some crap about world domination but nobody knows wtf these brown people magic stones are and the children slaves don't even have names or speaking lines. Compare that to Raiders and Crusade where there is clear and constant stakes at hand AND Indy is personally involved and at-risk with them. Not a bad movie by any means, but noticably weaker than the other 2 overall. It does have many iconic moments though.

That being said despite Temple being the weakest entry it's still 8/10, and there's never been a moment in my life where I've turned down watching it if the opportunity arose.
>>
>>219664404
I simply can't agree with you. Every individual second of Sean Connery interacting with Harrison Ford is pure absolute cinema.
>>
>>219664367
Well, the heckin evil German goblinos had 4 years to scorch earth all of western Europe, but for some reason they didn't. Really boggles the noggin
>>
>>219662758
Yes, it's the little babies opinion
>>
Last Crusade has a handful of great sequences but is the lamest overall. Went from "that one time when..." no-rules pulp adventure to good-guy all-American fun for the whole family.
>>
>>219663864
Dodgson was a nazi
>>
>>219667109
>Indiana Jones is 80% Lucas 20% Spielberg
lucas is not a good director
he's only the idea guy
indiana jones is what it is because of spielberg
like it or not
>>
>>219662758
It's quite simple...

1>2>3>4>5
>>
>>219671314
See, nobody cares..
>>
>>219662758
Correct order

2, 3, Young Indiana Jone TV series, 1, 4, 5
>>
>>219662758
Raiders > Crusade > Skull > Temple
>>
People who pretend Temple of Doom was good is the DEFINITION of 4ch contrarianism. It's clearly the worst of the original trilogy, with the dumbest characters, worst setting, and the worst relic.
>>
Temple of Doom was one I watched countless times growing up. I couldn't get into Raiders as much
>>
>>219666522
4 is disappointing. 5 will give you AIDS.
>>
>>219675131
Indians and their savage ways literally took over the entire world. Meanwhile germans simply tried to stop bolshevism from over taking Europe and failed.

Temple of Doom came true
It's real

Chris Columbus' Monkey King script is generally pretty weak (Indy has like 4 fucking sidekicks) but it had an opening section set in a haunted mansion full of tricks and traps which would have been absolutely amazing and the fact that we'll never have it is adequate grounds for seethe imo
>>
>>219662758
Yeah, two is the worst between the three of them because of the woman, she doesn't even show her boobs, you know? The director was fucking her so he put her in the movie. Lame. She is so annoying.
>>
>>219662758
Yes, that is correct
>>
>>219662758
In retrospect Temple feels like what the indy movie series should've been... a masculine adventurer exploring the truly unknown. Raiders/Crusade is bogged down with the military/spy stuff. Crusade is way to slap stick for my taste.

>>219663705
I realize that much, but using the girl and her death as a proxy because you're mad at the nazis. Dude remember you have an audience. Redemption ark her or get lost. Spielberg is making a masterpiece, he shouldn't have added his own angst in it at the end of all places.

>>219664379
Thank you, but in the case of part 2. That was no ordinary Scrappy Doo kid, it was the genius from the Goonies. It wasn't like the annoying asshole pricks from Jurassic World, but rather Kwan was very likable. Would have probably worked with Feldman too.
