Next time you watch this film, watch it as if you, the viewer, are the only one who knows that Henry Fonda is actually the real killer. Go into it with the assumption that Fonda's character is a murderous psychopathic genius, and that part of his sick, twisted plot is getting himself on the jury of the boy he framed for killing his own father. Imagine that everything he's saying and doing is all part of a sadistic game of his to get away with murder. This movie makes way more sense and becomes 500% better
