It isn't that good tbqh.
>>
Lynch isn't that good. His best film is just a remake of Altman's 3 Women with some recycled Twin Peaks bits shoehorned in and a bit of softcore lesbian porn for good measure.
>>
>>219672944
it's pretty good, but he has directed at least 4 or 5 better films
>>
>>219673085
elephant man is his best film
>>
>>219673085
His best film is the Return.
>>
Low IQs can't into Blue Velvet, and this isn't bait. The film is not hard to read or understand. The cinematography is very intentional, and yet it puts pseuds to sleep. The only people that complain about Lynch are bandwagoning retards that *thought* they really liked Twin Peaks but only appreciated the camp.
>>
His best film is a film he never made.
>>
>>219672944
The happy endings for EVERY single character came out of nowhere.
>>
>>219673444
almost like it was "In dreams"
>>
>>219673387
You are a genuinely worthless faggot and this movie is for pseuds
>>
>>219672944

it's great. Mulholland Drive is the one that's overrated. and the less said about Inland Empire the better.
>>
heckin sick burn my negro, I'm truly malding! :D
>>
>>219673085
You have to realise he is one of the astroturfed people on here. It's not people acting on good faith wanting to share good stuff. It's insecure assholes mostly.
>>
>>219677493
claiming its for pseuds is more pseud than actually just enjoying a pretty entertaining straight forward film like blue velvet
you ugly mean spirited mentally ill psychopath

its not overrated at all its fucking great
/tv/ is literally the worst place on earth for film discussion, literally none of you have any taste and the one guys that's on here 24/7 being an obtuse retard ruins the rest

>and the one guys that's on here 24/7 being an obtuse retard ruins the rest
>one guy
>>
>>219681415
I'm genuinely curious why are you like this?
why do so many people wander into film discsussion and just immediately blurt out a memorablr line and nothing else
do you think you've contributed here? because you haven't, what you've done is childish at best
>>
>>219681519
>discsussion
we are not discussing discs, so this portmanteau doesn't really work.
>>

>he hates the prototype to twin peaks
Ok. This is basically Dale Cooper's upbringing and an intro to a quiet down with dark things happening within.

I'm confused at people who ask for art to make sense, when it is already clear to them that life doesn't make sense.

I have recently been trying to solve algebra equations in my sleep, only to realize that each number's value changes from moment to moment.

Dennis Hopper was just the scariest-looking motherfucker ever. I'm sure he did some fucked up shit in his actual life that no one even knows about.

probably the most overrated lynch movie. all the other famous ones (besides Dune) are better
>>
>>219682412
Mulholland Drive stands as his best. It is a highly polished Blue Velvet.
>what is it about
It's a dream sequence in two acts. Just like Twin Peaks. Just like Blue Velvet.
>>
>>219683003
one the opposite end, Lost highway is his most underrated movie
>>
>>219681801
I never felt that Jeffrey was that close to Dale, despite the insistence from Lynch and others.
>>
>>219672944
I kinda only like the dennis hopper bits
>>
>>219672944
i have a schizo theory about this movie that the whole thing are the wet dreams of the teenager main character, hence the Roy Orbinson scene that comes out of nowhere, pay attention to the lyrics

monica belluci or whatever isnt even that hot

The Straight Story has lesbian porn in it?
>>
>>219672944
crazy take honestly. if you didn’t like mulholland drive i’d understand that, but blue velvet is like a perfect film. the structure and pacing and mood are masterful.
>>
>>219673285
I'm tired of this larp that The Return is somehow "one continuous 18-hour film". It isn't even shot on film for fuck's sake. Lynch is obsessed with digital and hasn't touched film in 25 years. No actual filming of film took place. I love The Return but it's not a fucking film. It's a cable TV show. Regular ass cable TV show.
Nothing about The Return is film except for maybe the archival footage that was transformed to digital at the LATEST somewhere in 2012 during the production of Missing Pieces. That's the only part about it that's even remotely film.

It's Isabella Rossellini, and I find your taste in women questionable.
>>
>>219672944
it's pretty straightforward for a lynch movie. you can interpret the entire story literally as it happens on the screen. no shitty supernatural "up to your interpretation" nonsense. if you interpret it as metaphorical, then it's pretty clear what everything is supposed to represent.

the only people who don't like it are capeshit normies and incel prudes.
>>
>>219681519
>It isn't that good tbqh.
Is not an attempt at a "discsussion". Garbage in, garbage out.

Pretentious crap

>His best film is just a remake of Altman's 3 Women
Which borrowed heavily from Bergman's Persona (which Altman was a fan of) and probably more likely to have inspired Mulholland anyway.
