There's something I'm curious about. When thinking back on Rings of Power, I had no issue with black elves and thought it was just a sign of the times. Then it dawned on me that the reason there were no black characters in LotR isn't because it was based in Europe or that Tolkien was racist, but due to the fact that the races (man, dwarves, elves) are symbolic for races in our world, and having characters be black would cheapen the symbolism Tolkien was trying to convey. So am I just retarded or did LotR have at least some political themes?
