ITT: Your dads favorite movie
>>219678539
Pretty sure it's this or something with Segal
Evil Dead 2 was my dad's favourite movie. He didn't like Braveheart much, even though he was Scottish.
>>219678829That was my dad's favorite too, Anon.
>>219678539May as well just say Mel Gibson thread
He liked The Warriors, introduced it to me in about 1984, I do believe. He died before I could find out it what his favorite movie was tho. I'd dearly love to know.
>>219679938embarrassing
>>219679938Based. >>219680023Cringe.
>>219678539all of the italian mob shit. godfather, casino, goodfellas, anything with pacino in it. it wasnt until way later in life that i went back to watch old movies that i realized how many quotes he took straight from those movies and incorporated into his soul, to be repeated constantly.
>>219678829>>219679660Idk about favorite, but these and Blade Runner, Training Day, Masters and Commanders, the first Indiana Jones, and of course the classic Star Wars movies. He told me how he watched Empire Strikes Back twice in a row with his buddies when it came out. I can only imagine. Dude has some seriously refined dad taste.
>>219678539He didn't really care for films but I do remember him liking this flick since he was big into Donald Westlake novels.
I showed my dad 300 and he immediately complained about its gayness. I was telling him it wasn't as gay as he thought, but then the scene with Leonidas showing his buttcheeks came up, and I had to concede that it was a bit fucking gay. I wish I hadn't played that film. He thought less of me for it.
>their father is alive and they will have closure and even mementos of his existenceI'm just gonna go
>>219686141What happened anon
>>219685600Checked.Even though DeNiro's a fag, great movie.
>>219678539My father could be fleeing a burning building but if he runs through a room and this happens to be on the TV he would sit down and watch it.
>>219686063The line between badass and gay is perilously thin. Your father never learned to walk it. Show him Top Gun next.
>>219686063Gay.
>>219678539this and The Outsiders
wtf these are my favorite movies!
>>219678539You posted it. Pic rel was my grandpa's favorite.
>>219686657>Show him Top Gun next. He's dead now. He died back in 2012, and I never got the chance to show him better films from my collection and change his opinion. Let this be a lesson to you all: do not show your dad films that might embarrasses you. Because you never know, it could be the last film you show him.
First Blood, he will watch it when it's on tv, he will watch it on streaming, he will watch it on a dvd/bluray combo, he will watch clips on youtube, he will call me quoting lines from the movie. He will never get sick of it, he will watch it so many times it would make a billy goat puke.
>>219678539It's one of these but I don't know which.
>>219678539My dad will always watch the Cruise Reacher movies if they are on. He’s read most of the books but still prefers the Tom Cruise version for some reason.
>>219687177You've done enough damage. This Rambo quoting is over. Do you understand me? This quoting is over!
>>219678539my dad's an alcohol
>>219688860ITS NEVER OVER
He watched so many I genuinely have no idea what his favourite could've been and now he's gone. Going to go with the original Godzilla (1954) since he was huge into that during the brief time I knew him and it would've came out in America around the time he was a kid. Likely would have been a full blown Weeb if he was born in the late 80s instead of early 40s.
>>219688860There wouldn't be no trouble except for that king-shit cop!
>>219678539Natural born killers
>>219678539idk if it's his favorite but i swear i caught that nigga watching this like every single day for a week straight once
>>219678539No Country for Old Men
The Warriors
>>219686533Is it really that good? I've never seen it.
>>219687234Gotta be Fellowship.
>>219690957>>219693975Based.
>>219684055My dads too.
Probably something directed by John Ford staring John Wayne. My dad died 23 years ago and I never thought to ask him what his favorite movie was before he went. I know he liked westerns, though, given that most of his VHS collection was westerns. And all the cowboy stuff he had, including a leather saddle. He didn't even have a horse, he never owned a horse.
