I really REALLY like this movie.

It's a good movie.

I got this movie and the Scorpion King for Christmas in the early 2000s.
Kid me liked both movies. Tremors aged a lot better, but Scropin Kang is still pretty okay.
>>
this is /tv/ we don't talk about good movies here.
>>
I also like this movie

Do NOT look up what happened to Rhonda's actress. It will make you sad.

I had a strange, unpleasant dream about this movie a few weeks ago in which the characters were all killing each other in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by the creatures. It took me awhile after waking up to realize that the actual plot of the movies isn't like that at all.

Gallons of cum have been discharged from my peehole to the pants ripped off scene.

It's funny how Burt became the face of the series and took over all the sequels

Structurally it is a nearly perfect film without an ounce of flab on it. You can read the screenplay and see that they cut away exactly what was needed and left only the best parts. Also has my favorite setup/payoff ever with Earl falling out of the truck in his sleeping bag (that looks a lot like a Graboid) foreshadowing the Graboid going over the cliff in the climax. You can even see the rocks they end up trapped on in the background of the opening shots.

It's a perfect movie, OP, there aren't many like it. If you want some other quality monster movies in the same vein, though imperfect, I'd recommend:

>Alligator
>Killer Klowns From Outer Space
>Arachnophobia

Critters is not bad, but pretty schlocky. Tremors 2 & 3 aren't nearly as good, but still worth a watch. I've heard the 4th one was actually good, but I've never seen it. 5 and onward are complete trash, not worth watching unless you just love Burt that much.

Holy shit, I've seen the movie a hundred times and never noticed the sleeping bag connection. I knew that was the same location as the finale, but the sleeping bag is blowing my mind.
>>
>>219690906
I've rewatched it so many times and still found new things to notice, like how the guy who starved to death stayed attached to the tower with his belt buckle
>>
I have the Cinefex issue for Tremors that showed all the behind the scenes stuff. If it wasn't so late, I'd take some pictures for my fellow Tremors bros. One cool thing is that the Graboid that busts into Burt's gun room is a hand puppet in a miniature set.
>>
I was going to say this barely qualifies as a horror movie, then I remembered the way the doctor's wife and the Chinese dude die is pretty fucked up.

She’s evidently sober now and doing better.

My nigga. I thought I was the only one. Kek

I will always be sad they couldn't get Kevin Bacon and Reba back for the sequel.
>>
>>219696308
Kevin Bacon's career took off and it would've been beneath him to appear especially when it wound up on direct to video, but I've always felt that Tremors 2 was good enough to justify a theatrical release. Fred Ward and Michael Gross were still great in it and the special effects weren't too bad for the time.
>>
>>219684532
yeah it's good

100%

The original is so good. Can they even make movies like this anymore? I feel like the caliber of actor now has plummeted.
>>

I think it was better for the story for them not to be there. The town being a shitty backwater no one wants to be in is a key part of the first movie. Plus Kevin Bacon's character's desire to get the hell out of there, which he achieved in the first. No one really wants to live out there, so it helped graboids never be discovered. Reba could have worked, but I enjoyed Burt shining on his own

Tremors 2 is surprisingly great, I was expecting boring crap but got kino instead. I really like how the franchise has a strong sense of continuity and worldbuilding for the town.

Tremors 2 use to be on HBO all the time back in the 90s. I had no idea why it didn’t make a theatrical release. 3 and onwards is when it got to straight to DVD quality.
