I watched the original Muppet Movie recently for the first time in a long time and I had these couple of thoughts. Now, to clarify, I think the movie is perfect as it is, these are just some random "what if" scenarios that came to me while I was watching it.>While Kermit and Fozzie work perfectly as the initial duo, from a meta standpoint, considering how the Muppets got started in the real world, I wonder what the vibe would've been like if Kermit's first partner and other half of the duo at the start of the adventure had been Rowlf?>Instead of Animal growing to giant size being what finally scares off Doc Hopper, should this have been the moment where they finally pay off Sweetums' gag of chasing after the gang and him being responsible for it (either with or without the growing to giant size)?>This one is more of an observation than a "what If," but it's weird how Fozzie, Gonzo, and Camilla being absent for such a huge chunk of the movie (Kermit and Piggy's date and subsequent capture by Doc Hopper) without any explanation just... works. It might've been funny to have a brief cutaway to them awkwardly eating some burgers in the car, or sitting in a hotel room watching TV, or something.
I prefer Muppets Take Manhattan.Beaker, the Swedish chef, Statler and Waldorf were the shit on the show.
