The Japanese Battle Royale novel I think takes place in an alternate timeline parallel to our world in the 1990s. Don't know. Somebody should correct me on the Japanese Battle Royale which is also available on Tubi.

Some of the fans are commenting that the Hunger Games movie is bright and has plenty of colors.I will admit that when I watched those anti-War movies and shows like The Thin Red Line, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan, I would play with the television's color settings and make the colors seem muted and grayish. Of course that is probably different from the dimly lit and more dark and drab greenscreen movies full of CGI these days.
