I spent the majority of my life in working-class Connecticut and moved to rural South Carolina. I used to think southern stereotypes were just jokes by coastal elites, but a lot of them are absolutely true. I've met many people who can't read past an eighth grade level, and have heard through the grapevine of a grandfather having a sexual relationship with his own granddaughter. The whites are fat and stupid and occasionally very mean. I witnessed a white ham planet spank her child in public at Walmart. The accents are disgusting and I want to go back north ASAP. But interestingly enough the majority of blacks are incredibly respectful and nice.
