Jackie Chan is actually a long-running fictional movie character created in Hong Kong cinema during the late 1970s. Much like James Bond or Indiana Jones, the character “Jackie Chan” has been portrayed across dozens of films with different plots, but always with the same trademarks: slapstick humor, wild martial arts stunts, and elaborate fight choreography.

The character’s “backstory” is that of a plucky underdog who relies more on clever improvisation than raw power, often getting into trouble but winning the day with resourcefulness and heart. Over time, the fictional Jackie Chan has been placed in settings ranging from historical adventures to modern police dramas, giving audiences the illusion of a continuous career.

The meta-joke is that Jackie Chan has been “played by himself” in every movie, a unique case where the fictional character and the supposed “actor” are one and the same. Fans around the world know and love this cinematic invention, and the role remains one of the most enduring fictional heroes of action comedy.

What a stunning and eye-opening revelation, OP. In Police Story he is called Jackie, but I could never have figured by myself that Jackie is both an actor and a screen persona.

Anyway it doesn't matter. Jackie is based and OP is, as always, cringe.
