Does this work in America? In my country you order whats on the menu. Take it or leave it.

small substitutes are usually ok. if the menu doesnt specify, its implied to be acceptable within reason

What is a “plain omelette”? Just rolled up egg?
>>

That’s a weird thing to get mad about.

>Mate
Youre just going to order eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, toast, cherry tomatoes, etc so what would you substitute anyway?
>>
>>219724393

Wheres the fuckin pudding, chips and hash browns are you having a giggle?

>Potatoes and potatoes
For what purpose? Just do the hashbrowns or roasted potatoes, ditch the beans, glass of orange juice, cup of coffee. Perfect

I'm sure that asking for some ingredient to be excluded, like "I'll have the chicken sandwich but no lettuce", is a common thing mostly everywhere. Asking for some other ingredient that is not listed instead seems odd though, I've certainly never done that.
Nicholson's character in that scene wasn't unreasonable. When the waitress said there are no substitutions, he dropped the "tomatoes instead" part of the order. He just asked for the omelette without potatoes which the waitress accepted as a valid order. The point of attrition came when he wanted toast and she said they didn't offer toast. So he ordered a chicken salad sandwich on toast and asked her to exclude all the fillings, which would result in him getting his toast but paying for the whole sandwich, which he was fine with. But for some reason the waitress was willing to exclude all the ingredients from the sandwich except the chicken. Why is it okay to hold the butter, the lettuce and the mayo, but not the chicken? Odd place to draw the line.

We keep more of our paychecks to buy the things we want.

As based white men, if we want something, the brown waitress will cave to our every demand

Americans have visceral hate towards low paying jobs because their society is breed like that.In france the difference between a coffee store worker and middle management is like 300 bucks in the USA is like 3 thousand that doesnt help at all
