the hate for Snape is exaggerated
>>
>"Who's he?" Harry whispered to Ron.
>"That's S'verius Snape-Jackson. Dark wizard, if you know what I mean..."
Why did Rowling write this?

No. Rap and hip hop are not art at all.

Why didn't they just use the primary cast from the audiobooks? I don't get it, every single voice actor is superior to the television series, and they're all proper actors too.
Mark Addy as Hagrid is especially such a missed opportunity, and Hugh Laurie as Dumbledore is kino incarnate, not that John Lithgow is bad but he's fucking 80.
>>
>>219731457
>ayo potter, you little bitch, what's the difference between crack and cocaine?
>>
>>219730234
I hate Nick Frost as Hagrid even more than that. There is something about black Snape being an intentionally retarded casting that makes it negligible. Honestly Snape was not an interesting piece to Harry Potter until the later books made it all about him, which happened as a consequence of the success of the movies to that point.
>>
damn I thought this was coming out soon but it's not until christmas
>>
>>219730234
He's pretty pale for a brotha. Good casting.

He was ABSOLUTE ASS as snape, sounded like a weak pajeet. If anything, the audiobook was the perfect opportunity to cast a black men. It needed some deepnees/raspiness to it, something that's offsetting, a contrast to the "good" cast. Something like a Danny Glover.
And that pajeet absolutely didn't hit it, it was too clean and too girly.
Mark addy as Hagrid was the best cast, and Huge laurie did the most accurate "whimsical" Dumbledore that I never knew I needed
>>
>>219735115
I heard that same sentiment from a lot of people, but I disagree. He's exactly what I imagined Snape as; somebody cosplaying at being wise, noble, and reserved, while also being openly spiteful at his circumstances.
Snape IS weak. He's quite literally a loser in every regard. He's the McLovin of Hogwarts. I think Ahmed delivers that feeling of somebody trying to pretend at being something they're not, which is Snape's entire arc.
Rickman is an amazing actor, but his Snape felt like it belonged. He was an outlier visually and of course in the actions he took against POTTAH, but if you were relying on audible queues you'd think nothing of him.
>>
>>219730234
Ja'Severus Snape is just straight up a bad person who bullies little children for fun.
>>
>>219730234
>sheeeeeeiiii we be majic people n shit ima smoke crack den suck a limp jew dick, spread my ass massa!
*drops mic*
>>
>>219738659
Snape isn't weak, he's just ugly and twitchy, but everyone is afraid of him. Gary Oldman, who was horribly miscast as Sirius, would have made a good Snape I bet. He is very good at character acting and he has the right combination of intensity and intelligence.

I find a lot of Harry Potter castings very odd because wasn't Rowling very involved in it?
>>
>>219738659
You are incorrect and your imagination of Snape is flawed because that's not how he is described in the book, you made your own canon there
In the book, Snape is CLEARLY described as having the same commanding presence as Mcgonagall, described as being able to keep the room quiet just without raising voice
I said it was a good opportunity for a black actor there, but if it was up to me I would have picked something like mads mikkelsen
Akhmed there talks and it's the exact kind of teacher that the whole classroom don't pay attention to
He doesn't sound imposing, just weak, and you are wrong thinking that's a good Snape
>>
>>219730234
From stiff upper lip to mouthbreather, why?
>>
so potions class is just going to be crack cooking. and rather than our trio taking potion ingredients, it will be snape himself doing all the stealing
>>
>>219731574
Not a bad idea desu especially Laurie as live action Dumbledore would've been great
>>219735115
I'm listening to them right now and I think he does a decent job as Snape, he gets that contemptuous, bitter tone down quite well
>>
>>219739331
He's a chemistry teacher that wants to be a gym teacher bullies children about it.
>>
>>219739995
>professor Snape, did you put cough syrup in the purple drank he shouted, calmly
>>
>>219740150
Yeah the guys just a strict, mean teacher - that's why he's imposing to the kids but he's not actually supposed to be particularly imposing as a person. In fact quite the opposite.
>>
>>219740030
Anyone can get the bitter tone
Discord mods can get the bitter tone
Libs with purple hair get the bitter tone on any street interview regularly, that's not hard to do and it's not why you hear an audiobook. You hear it because of the voice timber, that creates the character in your mind
If you hear that pajeet and think it's a voice to be respected or that it can command a room with a whisper, I don't think audiobooks are your jam pal
>>
>>219740150
He's basically the 3rd most powerful guy I the world. Dumbledore and Voldemort are in their own tier and then it's him. He dabs on every other character in the series whenever an actual fight occurs and everyone clearly knows how powerful he is. He's also basically fearless.

He's just pathetic when it comes to interpersonal relations
>>
>>219740305
>but he's not actually supposed to be particularly imposing as a person
another one that hasn't read the books I guess
That's fine, they aren't particularly good ones, but why would you come to this thread and made your own headcanon, when this is on the book

"I want Hatchaa DEAD!'

>>
>>219740417
The man was literally called snivellus. He bullied children as his main activity. They were not afraid of him out of any kind of respect like mccgonagall, he was a school shooter with the power of a teacher. He continued his emo high school act well into adulthood lol. The fear or willingness to listen to this pussy came down solely to the fact he would give you detention for daring to crack a smile or something.
>>
I can't read so yall wizzads turnt to whatever page ya want aight
>>
>>219740644
The other death eaters often seem kind of afraid of him don't they? Obviously the good guys who belong to the Brave Person House aren't going to be afraid fo him
>>
>>219740644
That's all fine and dandy. But you gotta project that into a voice, if you want to make an audiobook.
And hearing a school shooter pajeet does not command any kind of fear
When a pajeet starts screaming the only think I hear is DO NOT REDEEEEM
That's not the voice of a school shooter, like a said five posts ago.
Something raspy, something deep, or that drags up words, the pajeet sounds like a 18 years old boy that still hasn't changed his voice
>>
so rather than being a muggle hater he's going to hate white people?
>>
>>219741203
They're probably going to soobvert the whole Slytherin thing. It was always kind of absurd there was just an evil person house. Maybe most slytherins will be nomwhite and antislytherin views will be framed as racism
>>
>>219740417
I have read the books, yeah he's intimidating to kids but he's not truly intimidating in actuality he's kind of a loser

You and many people like you, are very very strange
You absorb one piece of fact and retroactively change your understanding of the word, even if it's contrary to reason and reality
Throughout books 1,2,3, and 4 you have ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, fact of the matter, proof nor evidence as described, of snape being a "loser" nor "kind of a loser"
That's a retroactive gaslight you made on yourself after finding out he was bullied in book 5
Like after finding out people messed up with him you go "Oh, so he is still like that in every book!" excep he's not and that's not what it shows
You are a very strange kind of human
So... programmable
>>
>>219742892
His most well known characteristic in the earlier books is being petty and rude to children, if anything the later books make him less of a loser by revealing his bravery and complexity
>>
>>219743733
>being petty and rude to children
So it's Filch
But you don't read him as "loser", you only ascribe the "loser" part due to retroactive gaslight
Also non of what Snape did to Harry ever come close to sending him to the forbidden forest as punishment at 11yo, like mcgonagall
But you won't say mcgonagall is also "a loser"
>>
>>219739995
>>219740276
The vision of a pasty chud typing this out and forcing a weak smile in his smelly room is hilarious.

>>
>>219730234
God I can't wait for his Lily sex scene
>>
>>219744048
Snape isn't real you don't need to defend the honor of a fictional character this hard, it's alright to admit he's uncool it won't hurt him
>>
>>219744318
It hurts me
Because you tag him as "uncool" and "a loser", when he's not
And then that sips into reality when a casting director brings someone that's "uncool" and "a loser" like an indian guy to play him
And then people like you go "Oh he's perfect because it matches my incorrect view on it!"
>>
>>219744513
>>219744318
I think you guys are missing the point here. Snape is like a cross between a Delta SEAL and an engineering genius or something, if you had to put it in real terms. Being a teacher isn't low status in Harry potter either.

He is genuinely a loser when it comes to how he acts with people but he still has a ton of status because everyone knows he's powerful and smart.

ah, ok
so it's cool then to fire the nigger and get a lore accurate white man in the role, right?
>>
>>219744714
I was trying to meet him half way
Also that "snape is a Metal Gear Solid snake level infiltrator!, actually!" it's also a gastlight
You are kinda like him, but he retroactively think he's a loser and you postroactively think it's a commando
He shows nothing of that sort for the first 4 books as well
