Disappointment. It aged horribly. Dated jokes and it’s not as risqué as I thought it was when I was younger
>>
>>219749451
Deadass fr fr on god no cap. Unc show is dated af.
>>
You had to be there.

Great show. I'm surprised how well it still holds up actually. The comedy is better than 90% of today's sitcom crap. Simply because it's incredibly direct. Al telling a woman who's upset he dares calling her fat that he's tell it to her back, but his car only got half a tank of gas is genius.

Even though watching it as an adult, the show often turns out the opposite of what I thought it was. From my memory as a kid I thought Al was the main character, the "hero" so to speak. But in reality Ihes the butt of the joke more often than not. A loser clinging to his high school days, who can't satisfy his wife and has a shit job.
Even Marcy, the resident feminist, wins more often than he does. Like how No Ma'am is just portrayed as a bunch of miserable losers.

But despite all that it's still amazingly funny. Again, simply because the jokes are just damn good.

>The comedy is better than 90% of today's sitcom crap
And what's the 10% percent that's better than it? Are there even any non-animated sitcoms left?
>>
>>219749451
Nah you're just a bitch, bro. I think there might have genuinely been two "holy shit did he really say that" moments in the 10 seasons or whatever but for the most part it's just funny man banter. If you're a woman are a "woman" then yeah I doubt you will enjoy it, go watch Gilmore girls or something
>>
>>219749411
It's pretty good for the most part. Decline starts around the last two seasons but even then it's alright. I liked the episodes with Steve more so than Jefferson better but Jefferson is alright too. Around the time Bud is in college it starts to get hit or miss. Season 1 Peggy is a far cry from pretty much every other season Peggy but most people don't notice. Anthrax the band makes an appearance it's a pretty cool episode. It was originally going to star Sam Kinison and Roseanne Barr at one point, how different it would've been.

I grew up watching this with my dad, but I was young (Born 1989) My parents didn't really care what I watched unless it had nudity in it. It was how I remembered from when I was a kid, jokes were funny, thought the men hooting and hollering anytime a woman walked in was cringe, and dont get me wrong Kelly is hot, but it gets old if you watch it back to back, and was annoying when I was a kid also, I can understand why Al hates his life, Peggy is a dog shit wife, and honestly thought Marcy was more attractive, but thats just my take. Outside of the women, I thought it was good, each seasons holds up well, some are better than others, think it should have be given a true final season, maybe they win the lottery or something, but its just stops. Overall its worth a binge and you can get through it rather fast.

>Wins the lottery

From what I remember that was the ending Ed O'Neil wanted. They won the lottery then the house is hit by a tornado and it just ends.
>>
>>219749804
Young Milla Jovovich is in it too.
>>
>>219749806
Yeah, that would have been good, guess them winning in the end with no consequences wouldn't have been in-line with how the show goes anyway, Al is always behind the 8 ball of life, and even if he gets around it, another 8 ball shows up.

Nope, I saw the reruns on tbs in the late night and they were still sharp and witty as then. If anything it contrast how they go for different laughs in modern sitcoms. I say that as a fan of cougar town and happy endings. Have never gotten tired of how sexy Kelly is. I was right there with Donnie dark in the therapist office.
>>

skip the seasons with steve

Homer Simpson but gay.
>>

Al is the main character that's why a third of the jokes are his and another third are about him
>>
>>219749411
Boomers really thought having a hot wife, family and suburban house on a retail salesman salary was a comically mundane life
>>
>>219751695
if anything Al is straight Homer with how he openly and constantly lusts after women
>>
A show that was funny when you came from school and were too tired to do anything but relaxing on the couch and there was nothing else on tv and you did not want to commit to a 2h VHS movie.

was.

>Kelly gets flanderized
I bought the complete dvd set years ago and never finished watching it because I forgot how repetitive it gets in later seasons. They all get flanderized. Still better than todays goyslop though.

We can smell your festering colon all over your post, sir
>>
>>219749411
It's a lot of fun once you get into it. You can tell the actors enjoyed making it, and the writing is solid. Yes, the humor is vulgar and crude, but it's presented in an endearing and absurd way. I really enjoyed the show, and I hope you do too.

The Christmas special with Sam Kinison encapsulates this so well. I crack up just thinking about it.

It'll make you DEPRESSED

That meme where someone from 50 years ago would see current year as HELL, well it is fucking TRUE

>A loser clinging to his high school days, who can't satisfy his wife and has a shit job.
That's the joke. Also it's not that he can't please his wife, he just can't be bothered.

>Even Marcy, the resident feminist, wins more often than he does.
Marcy is also a miserable bitch whose husband left her and later married a guy who doesn't work or respects what she does. She's basically female Al by the end.

>Like how No Ma'am is just portrayed as a bunch of miserable losers.
Again, the joke. They were a bunch of working class slobs causing anarchy over a TV show and because they're wives wouldn't let them do stuff. If they were fighting for legitimate reasons that made sense, it wouldn't be funny.
>>
>>219749411
Decent show besides when they added "Seven'. The show didn't need a child on it and they did away with him after like 8 or 10 episodes and never explain his departure.

In a later season Kelly is drinking milk from the carton and we see Seven on the side of it.
>>
>>219749411
Cringest sitcom ever. Plus hot Kelly.
>>
>>219751798
Dan Canasta, the voice of Homer Simpson, was in an episode, where he played a gay man angry that Peggy was drawing away his husband.

You shouldn't marathon sitcoms, 2-3 episodes a day max
>>
>>219749411
I actually thought about doing this for a while. It just seems like a really depressing thing to do though so I didn't after all, and I probably never will.
>>

I want to worship Peggy’s feet
>>
>>219749804

In later seasons at least. It actually jumps the shark in a more traditional sense because early seasons were pretty grounded in its dark humor.
>>
>>219749411
No ma'am
>>
>>219749451
I was watching some reruns the other day and it's even more risque than I remembered. One of the episodes involved Al going to go to sleep and repeatedly having dreams of barely dressed big titty bimbos wanting to fuck his brains out, up to a threesome. Another episode had Peggy actively ripping the clothes of her teenage daughter to make her look more slutty for a 50 year old man to enjoy fucking her more, because the old man was the mayor. Al and Peggy are effectively pimping out their daughter for the privilege of having potholes in front of their driveway fixed.

Irony.

A man who sold shoes for a living has a house and a family. He is regarded as a desperate loser.

They have an official youtube channel. I've enjoyed having various compilations play in the background while doing something else. If a full run through gets boring you could consider that.

>>
A shit ton of episodes and a lot of laugh tracks and hot girls wooooo scenes.

great show
>>
>>219757444
Married with Children didn't use a laugh track.
Zoomers can't conceive of a sitcom that has a live audience.
>>
>>219757444
Yeah it's insane how hot the women were, you did not need porn if you had access to MwC growing up
>>
>>219752044
Are you kidding me?! You watch to see how the characters grow and stay the same, the journey of being human! Kelly in ever different miniskirt and cheesecake scenarios. The new allante and the Bundy bounce is the perfect plot. The baseball episode and when all loses his car in the car wash are sweet and wholesome. Its revealed how important his family and his pride are.
>>
>>219757600
Weird if true. watched that show every night when a kid at 7 PM. it was prime dinner time TV
>>219757606
Yeah. It was a different time. And when they would hop on screen the crowd would cheer for them being hot
>>
>>219757789
>Weird if true
How is that weird? Sitcoms didn't really start using laugh tracks until the 00s.
