Fishtank’s core problem which every issue stems from is the fact that production massively lacks the business skillset. Someone who’s run a business or even complex projects has skills that would fix these problems and make the seasons betterHere’s what I mean:The writing: Right now, long-term arcs and short-term bits are extremely fragile and not properly planned. How many seasons and they STILL haven’t worked out what does and doesn’t work? They need to have several backup plans if things don’t go as intended, but buffers as well. For instance; if too many fish leave early, or, if a favored contestant gets eliminated early. And properly outlined rules for challenges. Buffers allow 2-fish elimination challenges so there’s no “ahead of schedule” panic like when bashir left. Dedicated writers who only focus on this should be part of the team. If someone already is, they should be fired. Goo in the tiny ass toddler pool? That’s not even funny, it was a retarded ideaTeam management: right now, the wrong people are hosting. Ben and Jet are some of the worst communicators I’ve ever seen, they can’t explain things properly or with enough detail. And the whole “production needs sleep” is stupid. There should be a skeleton crew on night shift who monitor cams and do other work as 90% of the time they’ll not be busy. Easy fix and kills 2 birds with 1 stone.Red teaming: where all ideas are stress tested before launched. Most things fuck up because nobody thinks “what could go wrong?”. Bashir was far ahead of him until Drake reached the stairs and eventually I think everything got a bit too much for Bashir and he began to flounder but I think the outcome could've been much different if not for these inconsistent rules. Overall it was a decent season.
