Dale is a bad friend who manages to hold onto his friendships through nostalgia, pity and by outrageous displays of selflessness. Bill is just kind of a fat loser and emotionally draining - but outside of outlier episodes like the dam, he's harmless. I'd be friends with 10 Bills before a Dale.
