Did the acting get better? I tried to watch the first season and it was genuinely shocking how bad the majority of the actors were. Like shit you’d see in some B-movie in the early 90s

It didn't get better at all. The problem doesn't seem to be the actors just being bad, it's the directing. It's like every scene was directed by going ''OK! Now ACT! Act HARDER!'' so the final take is just them giving the silliest theater kid monologue with badly written unnatural dialogue.
Victor seems to be the only actor who just ignores the instructions and gives his own performance that is appropriate.
Jade takes a more silly approach and turns the shitty script funny.

No, this show is one of those works inspired by the jj abrahams method, where the only focus is the pitch, to hook as many people as possible, then, to prevent the writers from cornering themselves and to avoid redditors from guessing their mystery box; they write as they go, being very nebulous and never really confirming anything until the very end.
